speex voice seems to be bit breaking over long distance.
Hi,
Ok, what you suggest sound logical to me. Currently, I
have done a small trick to prevent this problem. What
I did is that whenever windows request a voice packet
from me and if I do not have the voice packet, I
repeat the previous packet. Hence, all the breaking
portion is filled with previous packet. This trick
seems to work so far. I am not sure what is the side
effect.
I think jitter

speex 1.1.8
Hi,
I saw there is a new release of speex.
What is this SPEEX_PLC_TUNING option for?
And is there a more complete list of changes? Because I like to determine if it is interesting to update to 1.1.8

I rewritten my program so it is more similar to yours, I grabbed your code
for storing and retrieving echo, and I have better results, I think the
echo is cancelled in about 50% but it still can be heared. I think there

The Vorbis encoder could not set up a mode according to the requested quality or bitrate.
I built ffmpeg2theora from SVN, using libogg 1.1.4, libvorbis 1.2.3
and Thusnelda from SVN. Running ffmpeg2theora --help reports that
ffmpeg2theora accepts a range of -2 to 10 for the --audioquality
option and a bitrate of 32 to 500 for the --audiobitrate option, but
it doesn't appear to actually accept any of the low end numbers.
It appears that the lowest acceptable value for

Printing problems with w2k clients
We have a strange problem with our w2k clients:
We use two Samba server (one is PDC and the other is Print-Server -
operate in security=server mode with password server=PDC). All printers
are configured on the Print-Server with the Windows NT Printer Wizzard:
uploading driver for W9x, NT 4.0 and W2k; setting misc. options, like
Paper feeder and so on .. .
So far so good!

RPMs
Hi,
I think my problem is related to the way i make my RPMs (i'm newbie at
this).
Two things:
1) the generated RPMs are only 1,5 kb size. That's inpossible.
2) The rpmbuild -ba zbr.spec indeed installs the software in the
building stage. That's odd, isn't it ?
Following my signature is an openssl.spec file
Any help would be appreciated.

Echo canceller: residue value
Hi Jean-Marc,
For the residue in the echo_cancel function I pass in a pointer to an array of floats. First I used an array the size of the framesize, but I discovered this causes crashes because the echo_cancel funtion writes framesize+1 floats to the pointer.
I find this plus one strange, since almost all things are exactly the framesize. Is this an error in the echo_cancel function or simply

lets talk abaut gstreamer 1.10.5, gstreamer-libav, ffmpeg, bluray and vlc
Hello guys,
my playground this days with gstreamer resources can be found at:
http://centos.cms4all.org/repo/7/gstreamer/
The best thing for centos I think to compile the given one by gstream
libav:
Has ffmpeg 3.2.5 not ffmpeg 2.8.13 what is the background for vlc. In
principal it's possible to build ffmpeg 3.4.

Win2k won't join Samba-Domain

I have got a problem with samba (2.2.3a, 2.2.4 and CVS-Version). It's
inpossible to let a Win2K (SP1) join my Samba-Domain. The error is that the

Speex 1.0.5 and 1.1.8 are out!
Hi everyone,
As many noticed, I just released 1.0.5 and 1.1.8 over the weekend. There
isn't much new in 1.0.5, except that I added all the API changes from
1.1.x so that it's possible to write code that will work with both 1.0.5
and 1.1.8.
As for 1.1.8, here are the changes:
- Initial TI C5x port: I integrated a patch from Jamey Hicks
- Some fixed-point improvements and fixes
- Better

stuttering in speex 1.1.11
Hi,
I've been getting reports of stuttering audio in my VoIP application that uses Speex 1.1.11. Since I haven't had this report with previous versions of Speex I was wondering if one of the bug fixes in 1.1.12 solves a bug which causes the stuttering. To me the stuttering report sounds like the decoder state that speex uses gets messed up. Some info, I use the floating point version of

setting SSE at runtime (speex_set_asm)
Hi,
In the past somebody posted a patch on the list to choose the SSE at runtime using a function called speex_set_asm. I have been searching the archives, but I could not found that specific post.
I noticed the new 1.2beta1 does not include this patch, so I was curious if the person who originally made this patch has made the same modifications to the new 1.2beta1.

Feedback
Concerning the VAD in SPEEX, I've been using "VoIPerized" a phone using
SPEEX sampling at 16K, I use a Plantronics USB headset. I find that I have
to set the VAD quite sensitive in order not to lose "S's" from the start of
a word/sentence. the result is that I'm often sending packets
unintentionally resulting in packet loss from the incoming stream(usually

A/V sync strategies
I tried to encode some video from a DVD with encoder_example and
ffmpeg2theora, and it looked great, except that with both encoders the
A/V sync would drift noticeably after about 10 minutes, and by the end
of a two hour movie it would be a couple seconds off. So instead of just
whining about this and waiting for someone else to fix it, I decided to
try to learn about what's causing the
