Missing files for Delphi
Hello speex-dev, Like several others who develop in Delphi I have searched for the speex.dll or speex.pas file to no avail. Its a pity that this compilation is not available as many developers use Delphi, and this codec does seem to be an excellent free alternative. Do you know if anyone has been able to contact John Villar the author of the delphi example? -- Regards, Alistair+

Problems to compile speex 1.1.10 on windows
I am a delphi coder and i have successfully compiled version 1.0.5 to use the resulting dll in John Villars Delphi-Example with Bloodsheds dev-c++. With the stable version 1.0.5 it works fine but on my slow computer with 900Mz I have a lot of buffer overflows. Therefore I should like to create a dll with version 1.1.10 because it should be faster but i run into a lot of problems. I am not

delphi speex.dll
Hi I don't have the tools (or the ability) to compile the speex.dll as required in the delphi sample. Could someone maybe point me to a site or contact where I can get hold of this dll and other related files. Speex DLL wrapper looking.
Dear Sirs, I'm looking for the DLL version of Speex, to study very quickly the possible integration of this interesting voice oriented CODEC into our application. We develop, mainly, in Delphi. We use C++ only to develop firmware for our RF transcievers. I saw on the Speex.org website that there is a Delphi program\porting, but this dll is missing there. Can you help me about this? It will

Speex Delphi/dll
If you get BDS 2006, you will get C++ compiler as a part of the package. Then you will be able to build a DLL or static library (I think Delphi can link to C libraries). If this is not an option for you, I will try to build you a DLL. The only problem is that I'm not certain what exported functions you'd need. .a ________________________________ From: speex-dev-bounces@xiph.org

Problems to compile speex 1.1.10 on windows
Why not use gcc? You can get either mingw or cygwin. Otherwise I don't know. Speex should compile with a C++ compiler with only minor tweaks (forcing the compiler to accept the C casts). I understand that its meant for speech, but I was just using it for music... I am interested in getting the residual as small as possible using speex. Can you please tell me the areas to

Error in compiling Speexdec code (Speex-1.1.5 code)on Windows usingVC++6.0
Thanks a lot for your replies. Where can I get Ogg static libraries header, and Ogg header files. Any place where I can download. Basically I need to create a Speex library for Pocket PC 2003, that can be used from within my .NET Compact Framework application. For this I need to create a DLL file, which essentially is my Speex decoder. For this I simply need to make use of Speexdec, since this

Speex: Open-source, patent-free speech coding
Hi, We would like to announce the first release of the Speex project. Speex (http://speex.sourceforge.net) is an open-source (LGPL), patent-free compression format allowing an alternative to expensive proprietary codecs. Unlike Ogg Vorbis which compresses general audio, Speex is designed especially for speech. For that reason, Speex is meant to be a complement to Vorbis. Since it is specialized

Speex ACM no longer Beta (Houston, we have a release!)
The Speex ACM codec has been released as version 1.0.1.1. Enjoy! Here is a list of changes: * A setup application has been added to the release. Just click SETUP.EXE and follow the instructions. * The crash under Windows 95/98/ME was fixed. * A reported crash in VirtualDub, CDEx and possibly other applications was fixed * The codec's Format Tag was changed to an official Microsoft

Speex (source) client?
As you know, Winamp relies on the file extension to know what input plugin to utilize for the audio decoding. The input plugin for .ogg files (in_vorbis.dll) needs to understand the other ogg container formats but it doesn't as it is a vorbis only decoder. So the only solution is for Ogg Speex to have a different extension so this can be appended to the mountpoint, and an input plugin

SV: Speex modes
Well, I don't know what SBR is, but there's something in the wideband mode that may be similar: It's possible to encode the whole 4-8 kHz band with just ~1-2 kbps by only encoding the (LPC) shape of the spectrum and then just filling that band with "something that makes sense". Quality is quite reasonable... Jean-Marc Le dim 13/10/2002 à 06:18, Steve Underwood a

Hi Jean-Marc, I used the following code after init of the encoder to get the frame size of my RTP packets. char pcm_data[3200]; char speex_data[3200]; SpeexBits bits; memset(pcm_data, '\0', 3200); memset(speex_data, '\0', 3200); speex_bits_init(&bits); speex_bits_reset(&bits); speex_encode_int(codec_info->enc,

Error in compiling Speexdec code(Speex-1.1.5code)onWindows usingVC++6.0
Re: [speex-dev] Error in compiling Speexdec code (Speex-1.1.5 code)onWindows usingVC++6.0Actually one thing i should point out if you do decide to go this route.... currently my demuxer builds a seek table, which could potentially be a bit of a memory hog on a small device... though when i get around to adding the networking code, i will have to use my bisection seek code, so the use of the seek

Speex on Delphi
Hi, I hope it is ok to send questions to this list as a mere user of speex, but I couldn't find any reference to newsgroups or any reference to Delphi in past threads of this list. I would love to use speex in a Delphi application, but the plugin example provided in the speex website is missing a speex DLL and a speex Delphi unit. Does anyone know where I can find them, or how to contact

headerfile translation to Delphi (Pascal) completed
Hi, I am happy to announce that I finished the translation of almost all LGPL'ed R headerfiles to Delphi. As a test I did several demos which basically contain delphized versions of all the examples of chapter 5 in "Writing R Extensions". Please have a look in the attachments for details (DemosAndHeaders.txt), more information (Readme.txt) and an example of how it looks

Hello Jean-Marc, Regarding your question - a little background on the various choices, Fair Quality is 15kbps Speex narrowband, Good Quality is 24kbps Speex narrowband, High Quality is 32kbps ADPCM from HawkVoice and Toll Quality is 64kbps PCM. We also have 10 other codecs within the product including GSM, LPC and others that we currently do not expose. To us, quality is a combination of

Psycho Acoustic models i Speech Coding
(This is almost out of topic but anyway...) It is surprising how little research effort have been put into psy-acou models for CELP. The basic problem lies in that it is not easy to alter the LP model without distroying the minimum-phase property (ie. the stability of the predictor). That leaves us with psy-acou modelling of the noise-part only. However, my own research is in constrained
