Speex configuration
Hi,
I'm trying to cover all Speex configuration options to set
quality/mode/bitrate
in my application and I was wondering if the following all makes sense:
- abr_bitrate
- use average bitrate and set it using bitrate parameter
- SPEEX_SET_ABR
- cbr_bitrate
- use constant bitrate and set it using bitrate parameter
- SPEEX_SET_BITRATE
- cbr_mode
- use constant bitrate and

Try:
speex_encoder_ctl(pSpeexEncoder, SPEEX_SET_ABR, &desiredRate);

Speex settings and jitter
Hi Conrad,
Thanks a lot for the info. This is exactly what I needed.
We want to use speex in our IP telephony client and I was indeed trying to
put together
a GUI configuration screen.
Best regards,
Chris

That clears it up - thanks. Is this in the manual?

Speex settings and jitter
Hi,
Is there are document where the interaction between all the configuration
options of speex is explained?
Speex seems to have CBR, VBR and ABR. You can also use SPEEX_SET_QUALITY
(SPEEX_SET_VBR_QUALITY) and SPEEX_SET_BITRATE which I suppose can't be set
at the same time. Is there a list of possible combinations somewhere?
I also have another question related to jitter. To minimize jitter,

Dummy quesion about environment
Hi,
I'm trying to understand environment object in R.
I used the example:
f <- function(x) {
y <- 10
g <- function(x) x + y
return(g)
}
h <- f()
h(3)
then i saw that f return an environment
> h
function(x) x + y
<environment: 01B28570>
but I coudn't access to x and y object in that environment:
I tried

tapply within a data.frame: a simpler alternative?
Dear list,
I have a data.frame with x, y values and a 3-level factor "group",
say. I want to create a new column in this data.frame with the values
of y scaled to 1 by group. Perhaps the example below describes it best:

Subject: problem in encoder/decoder
hi all,
I'm developing an app to broadcast voice over web. i tried to use speex and
download ver 1.04 documentation and use it to develop encoding and decoding
but after decoding voice is damaged i attach my encode/decode function.

Fwd: Fwd: Problem connecting to DC from windows 10. Failed to create user record ... acl: unable to get access to ...
I'm sorry. It's my fault. Only administrator can join a domain, so thats
why I coudn't do it as different user. If I join the domain and restert
windows 10, I can login as differnet user. So it was my fault, I didn't
know about it. Everything works ok.
Now I must add some users to administrators group and create some scripts.
Best regards

ARMAX Models in R
Hi,
I want to model different timeseries with ARMAX models in R because I think
that ARMAX models will map best to these data.
Besides I don't want to use the order of the AR or MA part but the lag e.g.
AR Part =ar1, ar2, ar7; MA Part =ma1, ma3 and I want to use exogenous
variables as well.
I coudn't find any solutions in the R help and therefore I want to ask all
of you.

PXELinux and ISO's
Sorry for the totally newb question, but I coudn't find out from your website and posts if this is possible.
Is it possible to use PXELinux to PXE boot a system and load a bootable ISO instead of a bootable floppy? If yes, are there size limitations on the ISO?
I would like to PXE boot to WinPE using PXELinux if possible.
Thanks

possible quota bug ?
Hi,
I'm using dovecot 2.2.5 with quota (maildir backend), zlib and expunge plugins.
When I list maildirsize file, I get:
1073741824S
17952 16
If I receive a new message (example: 1204 bytes compressed and 2524 bytes plain text), the quota file is write correctly (2524 1 entry). When I move the message to trash folder (or between user custom folders) the file have wrong entries:

Regarding error handling in Opus Decoder
Hi,
While testing the Opus Decoder we came across the following:
If the decoder encounters an 'Invalid Payload Length' the decoding of the stream is stopped.
Also, when the decoder encounters 'Range coder state mismatch', the decoding of the stream is stopped.
I believe that it should reject the erroneous payload and start decoding the next payload for it to work properly in a

Error: dict: Failed to initialize dictionary 'expire'
Hi!
Using dovecot-1.1.17, and BDB-4.6.21.
I'm having this error in every two weeks or so. I've running this in a
crontab:
/usr/local/sbin/dovecot --exec-mail \
ext /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/expire-tool
The expire plugin and tool is working fine, the configuration is ok, and
I'm using the BDB backend.
What happens in every ~two weeks is dovecot starts to give me this error

Can a libFLAC encoder be initialize and called from inside a libFLAC decoder callback?
I am getting large, corrupted native FLAC files when trying to call the
encoder from inside the decoder. The metadata in the output file is OK.
Is initializing and calling an encoder from inside a libFLAC decoder write
callback supported? The encoder is initialized on the first write callback.
Environment is Win 7 Ult, 64-bit, VS 2008, libFLAC 1.2.1.
Here is some context. The static

Because the decoder's predictor state converges over multiple packets of
data, you cannot just skip to the next payload without introducing
decoding errors.
We have also tried to make the

Can a libFLAC encoder be initialize and called from inside a libFLAC decoder callback?
Have you tried decoding to memory, and encoding from that memory?
This technique would avoid file I/O.
If you are reluctant to allocate enough memory for the full file (and
why not, with a 64-bit system?), then you could implement a FIFO.
You would need a semaphore to keep track of the decoder's progress,
and multithreaded coding. The decoder would pause, whenever the FIFO
gets
