SmartPhone ARM
Hello Greg If money isn't a problem Intel has an optimized compiler for eVC and XScale processors http://www.intel.com/software/products/compilers/techtopics/PCA_Optimization_WP.pdf If you have any luck getting the eVC compiler closer to realtime I'd really like to know. I'm still far from realtime when using Speex 1.1.3 on a HP iPAQ (Intel pxa255). Best regards Bjoern D.

>What frequency is the ARM processor? The phone shows ARM720 no freq. I'm going to have to guess around 100 Mhz. I ran the same code on an XSCALE ARM 400 mhz. Toshiba e740. Runs about .33 -> .4x realtime. This is the using the generic fixed point defines. Around 5 times faster than I am seeing with the Orange SPV e100. I am using the 1.1.3 codebase. Thanks for taking the time to

I don't think a compiler is going to be enough. I tried perl scripting the output of a linux gcc cross-compiler to convert into something the assembler under eVC would consume. It errors on all the MAC type of instructions. I looked at www.arm.com (I never knew there could be so many arms) It does not look like the ARM720 has the MAC instructions. It also lists 75Mhz and 100Mhz as possible

I've been able to do real-time with about 20% CPU on an ARM 400 MHz. Here are the settings I used: - Compiled with FIXED_POINT (--enable-fixed-point) and ARM_ASM (--enable-arm-asm) -

Hello Carl, Can you send me libspeex compilated in eVC. And can you describe where and how set the FIXED_POINT flag in eVC. Thanks you. Regards. Port speex to my iPAQ 1945
Hi I want to port speex to my pocket PC iPAQ1945 which has a Samsung processor 2410, an ARM9-based processor. I would like to write the specific optimized code for this chip. I had some experience at DSP chip and fixed-point coding but know nothing about embedded system and ARM. Could someone tell me some hint how to write optimized code for this pocket PC. If you can give me some links that will

[RfC] A proposal of adding SPIR-V Toolchain in Clang
Hello, Since 2015 Khronos has switched to the new portable intermediate format SPIR-V, which has replaced the original SPIR. The advantage is that it offers higher portability across different toolchains. There was a talk about it at a Dev Meeting: http://llvm.org/devmtg/2017-03//2017/02/20/accepted-sessions.html#17 LLVM currently only supports SPIR format for OpenCL in Clang. Several Khronos

SPIR-V questions
Dear all, I have a couple of questions of SPIR-V implementation for OpenCL. The first one is about the tool spirv-opt from the project SPIRV-TOOLS. When you use that tool like "spirv-opt test.spv -o test.spv", it changes something at the file or it does not do anything by not using any flag? I think it is like a "No action" flag but I am not 100% sure about that. The second

Problem with axes in a plot of Kaplan-Meier
Helo: After changing "involuntarily" some of the graphics parameters with the command par() (I did not know that changes with this command are permanent), now when I made a plot of the survival Kaplan-Meier function, the Y axis does not start at 1, and the X axis does starts at 0. The commands that I use are: library(survival) BROWN.SPV = Surv(BROWN$TEMPS, BROWN$DEF)

[GE users] Apple Leopard has dtrace -- anyone used the SGE probes/scripts yet?
Hi, Chris (cc) and I try to get the SGE master monitor work with Apple Leopard dtrace. Unfortunately we are stuck with the error msg below. Anyone having an idea what could be the cause? What I can rule out as cause is function inlining for the reasons explained below. Background information on SGE master monitor implementation is under http://wiki.gridengine.info/wiki/index.php/Dtrace

Howto authenticate smartPhone via Active Directory
Yes, you are right. This link: https://www.redips.net/linux/android-email-postfix-auth/#section2 shows: passdb pam { } used for authenticating Android. Problem #1 is that Slackware does not ship with PAM and the AD/DC Samba4 does not use it. It is used on Slackware for a domain member, but I'm not sure I should try configuring PAM on the AD/DC. Is there some otherway I can get

The easiest way to solve that is to have an audio prompt announce the calls that were passed through from the business DID before connecting the call through. That does require using a follow-me

Linux PDA/smartphone sync?
Hi, I think I'll finally be able to move away from windows... I just installed linux and I'm wondering what people use as smartphones/PDA. I currently use a motorola V710 phone, which allows me to sync my contacts and calendar, which is all I need. I may change it soon, so I'd like to know what is best to work with linux (I use evolution right now, connected to an exchange
