q about jspeex
Hi, i have: public void run(){ try{ System.out.println("Opening mic"); // AudioInput ai=new AudioInput(t); // ai.start(); if(t.input==null){ AudioFormat format = new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED, 44100, 16, 2, 4, 44100, false);

speed and memory
hello, i switched to use the encoder.processData() and encoder.getProcessedData() of jspeex. however it looks to me like a memory leak ... memory usage is increasing very fast and there is no visible stop ... after about five minutes java.lang.OutOfMemory occurs. I think it must be the jspeex component, because before i added jspeex to my app usage was constant at about 5mb. is it possible

header question
Another thing i noted when looking at the java code is a package counter ... is it important to know at which package the stream pointer stands? I mean, if it is important to continously increment the package counter i would have to repackage the audio data for every listener .... which can become quite CPU loady ... ulrich <p><p>Ulrich B. Size of each block in a circular buffer and the sample rate
int frameSize; speex_encoder_ctl(enc_state, SPEEX_GET_FRAME_SIZE, &frameSize); Is frameSize in bytes? If not, what unit is it in? I need to know so I know how big to make each element in my circular buffer. Also, do I need to call speex_encoder_ctl( enc_state, SPEEX_SET_SAMPLING_RATE, &sampleRate ); Depending on sample rate I record my audio in? If not, is there any benefit to

Strange Problem
Hi I am facing a strange problem. I have integrated speex codec's narrowband mode in my SIP based server. Then I tried to integrate the wideband mode. But the program crashes mysteriously. My encode and decode codes for wide band mode are exact similiar to that of narrowband, except the mode initialization, where I put "speex_wb_mode" instead of "speex_nb_mode". My

Mixing audio
Is There any intension to deal with mixing two or more streams encoded with "speex". Most voice wise applications (such as conference) need this feature. hi, ok. i am pretty new to this list, but there seems to be little activity at all. first of all, here is a screenshot: http://greenthumb.jabberstudio.org/video.png - it's screenshot of my buddy list in my jabber client (java based). I have a simple (or not so simple) task to achieve: stream the video from one end through the jabber server to another end and show the stream in my buddy

frame size
Hi, Can someone please tell me how should I go about changing the frame size which is hardcoded to 160 for NB and WB and 320 for UWB. For NB speech(8KHz) the framesize of 160 is 20ms frame but for WB and UWB its 10ms. What are the parameters being affected by simply changing the framesize and sub-frame size in "modes.c" How to change the buffer size and how its affected. can we have a

memory usage
Hi I am currently trying to port speex v1.1.6 to a microcontroller with very limited memory (<64Kbyte RAM). what I found when initialising the encoder, a chunk of 32Kb was attempted to be alloced, which failed: src/nb_celp.c: void *nb_encoder_init(const SpeexMode *m) { /* snip */ st = (EncState*)speex_alloc(sizeof(EncState)+8000*sizeof(spx_sig_t)); /* snip */ } same goes for the

Server based audio merge
CELP based coders perform poorly when you mix streams. Perhaps, we need a transform code or a subband code at somewhat higher rate 12-16 kbps that will retain the quality after transcoding and mixing. Is the speex ultra-wideband based on subband coding? -Devendra Jalihal <p>On Fri, 21 Nov 2003, Ulrich B. Staudinger wrote: > Hi, > been silent in this discussion for quite long ...

sppex player
Hi, You can also use the Java jlGui Music player (http://www.javazoom.net/jlgui/jlgui.html) with the java implementation of Speex (http://jspeex.sourceforge.net). This will play Speex streams and files on any platforms, including Linux, Mac and Windows, or even inside a web page. jspeex question
The link is http://www.adobe.com/devnet/rtmp/. TC Message stands for TinCan message. It is 11 bytes long, first byte is message type, three bytes of payload length four bytes of timestamp and three bytes of stream ID. The first byte of the payload for audio message is the format byte and the rest of the byte is the payload. Jozsef ----- Original Message ---- From: Jeff Ramin <jeff.ramin

speed and memory
Hi Ulrich, I've never had any OutOfMEmoryExceptions in my tests, and I think I've been rather thourough, although probably much more thourought testing narrowband than wideband. Having said this, it is very hard to get memory leaks in java, so I am sceptical about that. That memory might not be used optimally is more likely the case. More often then not reducing memory use

R-Forge not building packages?
