I found some thread that discussed this issue but they are pretty old (about 10 years ago). So I send this question again and looking for any new approach. I also use tmpwatch, or something similar, to clean up /tmp, it removes files that have not been accessed recently. (atime older than some configured limit). Hi, I'm having a problem using --link-dest and --hard-links when the fs hits the hard link limit (link(2) returns EMLINK). Using rsync 3.0.7 an error is thrown and the target file is not created.
