Kudos and feature question
I think you would implement it as a new type of filter rule. similar to 'P' (preserve) but with a timestamp or delta-time to define what counts as 'recent' as well as the pattern to match for this rule to apply (which could just be a wildcard matching anything by default, but could also use the full pattern-matching capabilities if required).
Have a look at:

Steam crashes upon launching (Mint Katya)
I had just installed Linux Mint katya on my Dell Dimension 5000 computer because Windows kept making it lag and so on.
I installed Wine and Steam soon after installing it, but whenever I tried to launch Steam it always crashes and quits as soon as the welcome and update screens pop up. I've googled for solutions to this problem and they have come to nil.

[patch] add "--ignore" option
Hi,
The patch below adds a "--ignore" option to rsync, which means
"--exclude-but-dont-delete-even-if-we-specified--delete-excluded".
I need this for a few tasks, the simplest of which is to have rsync resist
trying to delete NetApp filers' ".snapshot" directories.
The change is fairly simple (the boolean filter returns become tri-state),
and works for me both

rsync 2.6.1 released (including security note)
Hopefully the email to the announce list will show up soon. Until then,
you can get a jump on the rest by checking out the rsync home page to
read the announcement:
http://rsync.samba.org/
It includes a security note about a fix that affects read/write daemons
that are not using chroot. If that includes you, you should look into
upgrading (or maybe enabling chroot on an older rsync).

rsync 2.6.7 not excluding whole directories
I'm not sure if I was relying on unspecified behavior, but I was in the
habit of putting entries like this:
/home/tug/public_html
into an exclude file. This would omit everything under that directory.
(I'm not sure if it omitted the directory itself, but I didn't care.)
In rsync 2.6.7, this had no effect, and everything under
/home/tug/public_html was copied. I notice that a new

[LLVMdev] Kudos
My hat is off to everyone that's worked on LLVM.
I started coding Stacker yesterday from scratch as a background task in
between doing "real" :) work. Tonight I got my first program generated
by the Stacker compiler to compile, link and execute. The entire control
flow of Stacker is done (mind you its trivial). All that remains is to
fill in code generation for about 60 built-in

kudos
I'm sure this isn't said enough, so kudos to Timo for what has to be the
best IMAP server anywhere, hands-down no qualifications! And to think,
it's a one man operation ... although perhaps that is one of the reasons
it is so good.

Kudos from a blogger

Although many apps were and may have been supported at the time
it always seemed that the one I wanted to run was either not supported

I decided to give it another go earlier this year and was very pleased
and surprised.

Kudos 2
This game uses only DirectX 7 features, so it should be fully compatible with WINE.
I've gotten it to install and run under Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex beta, WINE version 1.1.6. (The game has an irritating bug with my chipset that requires me to change the resolution before starting; this is not WINE's fault.) However, once I click on the Begin New Game button, the textures go all weird; many

Kudos to all (GC works really well)
I am a lurker on the mailing list and a quiet but active user of R. I
recently needed to do some exploration and modelling on a large set of
data. In the past I would have been sceptical about how well R's
memory management and garbage collection would perform. I fully
expected R or my operating system to grind to a crashing halt.
However I was delighted with the memory performance.

R kudos
This is not a request for help, but I thought the readers of this mailing
list might appreciate the following, anyway. I have been working with US
EPA's (that's the United States Environmental Protection Agency) Office of
Pesticides on a preliminary assessment for the effects of exposure to
multiple organophosphate pesticides on human health (as required by the

Dear all,
I have just finished my thesis titled "Gravitational Microlensing of

"I would like to thank the authors of R and the R core team for
their great skill and dedication in developing this software, and

Public kudos to Timo
I'm sitting here working away on various unrelated projects and watching
patch after patch after patch flow in from Timo to fix all sorts of
problems people are reporting. A coding madman on fire.
Thanks Timo, you rock. I appreciate the time you spend on this software,
I'm sure everyone else does as well. :)

Kudos to the R support team
Hi there,
I just wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone who maintains this
service- just in case you don't hear it enough, there are a plethora of people
who rely on this service (as evidenced by the help archives), and even if they
don't say it, are greatly thankful for what you do here. Not only are you
providing a service to people who are learning R, but indeed helping

New User: Kudos, small/old platform, RPM Illegal Instruction
Hello All!
My 1st use of CentOS went well on my later eqpt. Thanks and congrats on
a good product.
Figured I might as well see if I could use it on some old stuff, still
good but obsolete.
Picked an AMD 5x86 (equivalent to a Pentium 75 MHz) and decided to see
if I could make it my gateway/router.
Had some difficulties, not unexpected. Old CD drive couldn't read the
CDs. No boot from CD

[PATCH] tun: Fix/rewrite packet filtering logic
Please see the following thread to get some context on this
http://marc.info/?l=linux-netdev&m=121564433018903&w=2
Basically the issue is that current multi-cast filtering stuff in
the TUN/TAP driver is seriously broken.
Original patch went in without proper review and ACK. It was broken and
confusing to start with and subsequent patches broke it completely.
To give you an idea of
