Still Having Problems With Password Authentication for 1.9.18p7
I'm having problems still with password authentication for 1.9.18p7. Samba only recognizes the root password only!!!! I thought password authentication was fixed in version 1.9.18p5. Anyway, here's output of the problems I'm facing: After starting smb and nmb using root's ID the following test was successful: 3 root@Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/private ==> smbclient -L

Problems with smbpasswd
I've compiled the latest version of samba (1.9.18p4) and set up password encryption (per instructions in the ENCRYPTIONS.txt file). Setting root's smbpasswd worked with no problems. I set another user (me) with an smbpasswd. Tried "smbclient -L '\\hostname\wwinzer'". The output is the following: 68 wwinzer@Sun-E3000:~ ==> smbclient '\\champusa.com\wwinzer'

Problem: FreeBSD 5.4 and Samba 3.0.20 not working with ADS
Hello all, I'm having a really difficult time with this setup. I can communicate with my Win2k3 PDC from my FreeBSD Samba file server by using the wbinfo utility. The wbinfo utility returns all of the information that I expect it to successfully. I've joined the Samba file server to the AD already. Users can access shared resources on the Samba file server *ONLY IF* they have a local

video conferencing bounty
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20bounty%20Meet%20 Me%20video%20conferencing I posted this bounty for $US2,000 some months ago. Basically I needed the ability for 4 or 5 of us to conference on a weekly basis which is why I was happy to offer this bounty, however I have only had 2 people make brief inquiries and no one has really offered any substantial indication they

[LLVMdev] A few folks in the SF Bay area are planning to get together to discuss GC statepoints
Specifically, I wanted to sit down with Sanjoy and Philip who have been working on getting the current statepoint infrastructure sufficiently well integrated with the optimizer to do early statepoint insertion, and discuss what the path forward is here. If anyone happens to be in the area and is interested in attending, please let me know. Currently, I'm planning to host things up on

[LLVMdev] A few folks in the SF Bay area are planning to get together to discuss GC statepoints
Hi Chandler, A few of us up here in Seattle would be interested, but we’re too cheap to buy plane tickets. Is it reasonable to set up a conference call? How the optimizer deals with statepoints is important to us. -R From: llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu [mailto:llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu] On Behalf Of Chandler Carruth Sent: Tuesday, July 28, 2015 8:21 PM To: Sanjoy Das <sanjoy at

Dual boot network install
I think this is probably a dual purpose, pxelinux/syslinux question, but I'll ask here first since this is probably of interest to a number of people. Has anyone set up a network install so that an admin simply installs a blank hard drive, turns on the computer (pxe enabled, of course) and walks away. And then, N minutes (hours) later has a multi-boot system which can boot both Windows 2000

Bug: C-level and _set_rl_word_breaks
Hi, I filed a bug report in the tracker (id #15169) a short while ago, along with a patch, but I came back to it to see that there is relatively little movement or participation on the tracker so I thought I'd pitch it here (patch attached). The function `set_rl_word_breaks` in src/unix/sys-std.c relies on statically-allocated strings local to the function, making other C code using the

That might work. I'm actually particularly interested in your perspective here, so even if it doesn't, I had already planned to specifically email you to make sure I got your thoughts here. But maybe a conference call would work. By far the easiest is for us to do a Google hangout, which would give video and audio. Would that work on your end? On Thu, Jul 30, 2015, 08:50 Russell Hadley
