Feature Request: "SayNumberFiles"
Hi, Currently, it seems impossible to use the output of SayNumber application as an input to Read application. So, if you want to develop an IVR with something like "You've got 23 messages. Type 1 to listen to the first one. Type 2 to leave", you must parse this message into 3 pieces and want for the last one play to start listening of user input : Playback ( "You've

NMB problem
I'm configuring Samba on a Red Hat Linux 7.2 server, for access from a Windows 2000 client. My server name is DEMENTIA, and it's IP address is 192.168.0.5. I've confirmed with ifconfig that the server's broadcast address is 192.168.0.255. I'm having a problem with NMB that I seem to have isolated to the following symptoms - After starting NMBD, I can lookup the server name

copying base file rather than complete directory structure
I have a basic directory structure that I want to be able to copy in one of two ways. The base structure is /a/b/c under that structure I have /d/e and finally files 'f'. I create a list of the /d/e/f files and put them in a file and then use: rsync -auvP /a/b/c --files-from=myFileList targetBaseDir That works fine and I end up with /targetBaseDir/d/e/f Now what I also want to do is

MS Access, Endnote, among others
Hello, Has anybody been able to successfully install MS Office XP Pro in Wine? I don't care much about the whole suite, I need MS Access, but since I have a bundled cd, I don't have much choice. Apparently several folks have had similar problems in this list, and I haven't found solutions. Wine-version is 0.0.20041201-1 Debian unstable package. I'm not sure I'm starting the

Problem with parsing a dataset - help earnestly sought
Dear fellow R-help members, I hope to seek your advice on how to parse/manage a dataset with hundreds of columns. Two examples of these columns, 'cancer.problems', and 'neuro.problems' are depicted below. Essentially, I need to parse this into a useful dataset, and unfortunately, I am not familiar with perl or any such language. data <- data.frame(id=c(1:10))

Trouble with WINE
Hello folks, I have the most recent version of WINE (20010305), and have been trying to run it with no luck until now. I have tried some very simple programs like notepad and solitaire, and both don't seem to work: all I get is a sh*itload (a REAL sh*itload) of font-related fixme's. Meanwhile, the system's load average increases, reaching a point where even the X server goes down

URGENT! Shellshock fix DOES NOT fix the bug on CentOS 5.4
Good afternoon! After applying the latest bash RPM listed at http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2014-September/020594.html : The fixed RPM (bash-3.2-33.el5_10.4.x86_64.rpm) DOES work just fine on CentOS 5.10. However, it DOES NOT work on CentOS 5.4. That is, bash runs fine, but IS STILL VULNERABLE TO SHELLSHOCK! Scary screenie at: http://i.imgur.com/yR7sBjV.png It looks like

File name too long
Hi, I've got a File name too long problem using rsync-2.5.6 or rsync 2.5.5-0.1 (debian) I had a look to the mailing list archive and to the todo file and all I've seen was that the problem only appears on old special systems. I'm using debian 2.2.20. (is it too old?) I've already posted this bug in debian bug tracking system

dnsbl feature for dovecot
dnsbl's are a popular method to prevent listed ips from making connections to mta software. cf. postscreen_dnsbl_sites in postfix Would it be possible to introduce such a feature in dovecot, so that connections can be denied based on a dnsbl lookup (where the precise dnsbls used are configurable)? wbinfo isn't working on domain member
Hi Rowland, I made the change you suggested to auto refresh kerberos. It didn't seem to fix the issue unfortunately, even after a machine restart. Following your line of reasoning that it is a Kerberos issue, I then tried to grab a new kerberos ticket on the server in question which appears to fail though. Perhaps this gives some further insight? pi at fs1:~ $ kinit administrator at

bug in acl_defaults_from_inbox option
Hi at all, there is a bug in in acl_defaults_from_inbox option: if you define it with ANY value ('yes', 'no', 'whatyouwant', 'xxx') it acts like the value is ALWAYS 'yes', and Dovecot enable it; the only way to disable it, is comment it or delete from configuration file. With 'acl_defaults_from_inbox = no', or 'acl_defaults_from_inbox =

I downloaded Network UPS Tools yesterday so that I could receive e-mail notifications of when my UPS switched to battery power. I got it up and running and was working brilliantly! Then, after a while I tested the system by switching off power to my

'Setup cannot find necessary files' message
Running Wine 1.0.1 in Ubuntu 9.10, trying to install FileMaker Pro 9 from CD. (Install from this CD works fine on Windows machine.) 'Setup cannot find necessary files' message appears when launching setup.exe with Wine. WINEDEBUG=+loaddll on setup.exe gives the output below; looks like all needed .dlls are there. Same problem reported on Ubuntu forums earlier in 2009 by another user:
