Cannot Install R to Trusty 14.04
Timothy, The link from stackoverflow gave some bad advice, IMO. You should be using the RRutter PPA, not RDev. RDev is the where I build not-ready-for-prime-time versions of R, and sometimes they break other things. RRutter is what is used to seed CRAN. Here is the link: https://launchpad.net/~marutter/+archive/ubuntu/rrutter I would remove the RDev PPA and install RRutter. The newest

GlusterFS VS OpenVZ kernel
Hi, We have a problem with glusterFS. We are using it on Centos 5 machine with OpenVZ kernel. Gluster daemon and gluster clients run on the host, not in the container. Recently we noticed a problem when we upgraded the OpenVZ kernel. After the upgrade there are strange errors in case of accessing the gluster volume. There are a few folders that can't be seen with 'ls' but if you

Deployment issue with Rails 3.1.1
Hi, I''ve recently updated an application to 3.1.1 and Capistrano started to fail at the assets:precompile task. It''s a strange bug that don''t always happen (it actually worked a couple of time) and there''s no error message, it only display "Killed". Running the rake task locally work though. I''ve reverted to 3.1.0 and now it work with

Linux grsec Guest on HVM Xen 3.1.1
Hello everybody For network simulation purposes I am trying to run a Linux image with a PAX enabled grsec kernel on a Gentoo xen-3.1.1 with HVM. While the image boots flawlessly on real hardware the kernel does not really like the fully virtualized Xen/Qemu environment. It does not succeed to boot (for dmesg see attachment). I first tried with the grsec- patched 2.6.14.6 sources but it

duplicate MAC detection change between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1
I just noticed another change between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1... one of my domains refused to start because I had used the same MAC address. In this case though, it was that the same MAC was used twice in the same domain but for different interfaces which are bridged to different networks. This situation shouldn''t really be a problem... but maybe excluding it from the warning is more trouble

Xen 3.1.1 HVM Windows 2000 Server doesn''t see multiple VCPUs
Hi Everyone, I upgraded from Xen 3.1.0 to 3.1.1 when it was released and immediately noticed that my Windows 2000 Server guest systems no longer showed multiple CPUs in task manager. All of the guest config files are the same as before. The only thing that has changed is that the system boots with Xen 3.1.1 and I installed the 3.1.1 tools, all from source. Anyone have any suggestions or similar

SPA841 3.1.1(a) firmware file
Hello. I have a customer that needs to downgrade the firmware on their SPA841 to 3.1.1(a). I can't seem to find the firmware file. Google turned up 3.1.2-something and Linksys is taking a while to get back to me. Anyone happen to have that file lying around? Thanks, Nabeel

swatch 3.1.1 & CentOS 3.4
I have need of the functionality of the "swatch" utility. Prior to the actual installation of swatch I used perl2rpm to create RPMs for the PERL modules not provided in CentOS. I got a clean 'make test' from the package so I know that everything is configured properly. The bottom line is that the utility appears to be broken. I can downgrade to version 3.0.8, which

OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 Calc autofill does not work
Hi all, Has anyone upgraded OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 on Centos 5.3? Everything seemed fine but I have found 1 problem on Calc. The autofill does not work. Example, when I type "Jan" in cell A5 and drag the handle to cell D5, the Fill Settings dialog box pops up instead of the Feb, Mar, Apr filling in the cell automatically. When OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 from Sun is installed, it works.

rsync 3.1.1 (and HEAD) grinds to a halt over sshfs
Hi Devs and others, First, many thanks for 14+ years of personal usage rsync. I'm trying to rsync to an sshfs mount point instead of using ssh transport. The reason for this is that I'm using encfs to create files which land on the (untrusted) destination encrypted. After witnessing stalled rsync progress, a barely utilized internet connection and and idle CPU, I stripped this down
