[RFC] Proposed update to convert two 64-bit attribute bitmasks to std::bitset
There are two 64-bit bitmasks maintained in AttributeImpl.h<https://sdocc.itg.ti.com/ui#file:review=11893/version=393846>: - AvailableFunctionAttrs is part of the AttributeListImpl class, and - AvailableAttrs is part of the AttributeSetNode class Both of these assume that the number of available enum attributes is limited to 64. In fact, a static_assert in

Signal 11 on domain join (Debian 10 Samba 4.9.5+dfsg-5+deb10u1)
I wanted to do a little playtesting with Samba as a domain controller. I spun up a Debian 10 box, installed Samba (package 4.9.5+dfsg-5+deb10u1) , and attempted to join it to the domain. It crashed horribly. ;) Unfortunately their domain ends in ".local". There's nothing I can do about it at the moment. But I do remove multicast DNS from nsswitch to prevent it from attempting to

[nbdkit PATCH 0/9] RFC: implement NBD_CMD_CACHE
I'm still working my way through the filters before this series will be complete, but this is enough of a start to at least get some feedback on the idea of implementing another NBD protocol extension. Eric Blake (9): server: Internal hooks for implementing NBD_CMD_CACHE plugins: Add .cache callback file, split: Implement .cache with posix_fadvise nbd: Implement NBD_CMD_CACHE

Signal 11 on domain join (Debian 10 Samba 4.9.5+dfsg-5+deb10u1)
Thanks--I didn't notice the Debian packages were so far behind. I'll try building a newer package and I'll test it out. Linear models and a simple time series
Working on modeling a wild animal population. Two data vectors: the herd count from year to year (estimated by a sampling procedure), and the number of animals killed by hunters. Task is to find the natural growth rate of the herd (A simplification, but preserves the essentials.) My question is whether the R procedure lm() is an appropriate tool to estimate the growth rate. year

WAS: Call pickup (*8) on SIP devices. Bug #116
I've attached two SIP debugs in reference to bug #116. They are from today's CVS build. 1. pickup.txt is a call from SIP(1) to SIP(2) with SIP(3) picking up the call. After which, SIP(2) rings for about 30 seconds then stops. 2. hangup.txt is a call from SIP(1) to SIP(2) with SIP(1) hanging up before the call is answered. SIP(1&3) are Cisco 7960's and SIP(2) is a Polycom
