[PATCH] Add support for zstd compression
From: Sebastian Andrzej Siewior <sebastian at breakpoint.cc>
zstd compression was announced as "good compression with high
throughput" so I gave it a try. With zlib, on high speed links the CPU
is usually the bottle neck. With zstd I'm able to fill a 200Mbit link :)
zstd detection happens automatically via pkg-config. No zstd header means
no error about missing zstd. So that

[PATCH] --link-dest option
Please CC me. I'm not subscribed.
Attached is a patch against 2.5.4pre1 CVS current to add the
--link-dest option so rsync will create hardlinks for
unchanged regular files to a directory on the destination.
This is like --compare-dest except that the result is not a
sparse tree.
Also included is extension to --(ex|in)clude-from to allow -
for stdin.
Could one of the maintainers please add

Trivial documentation patch
Greetings.
I'm not sure if this is the place or not, but I wanted to pass on this
patch (against CVS as of today) to document two exit values that are used
by rsync but not yet in the docs. Please let me know if there's a better
place to send it.
Many thanks to the developers and maintainers of rsync for all the
excellent work!

[PATCH] Attempt to rewrite the description of the filter parameters in rsyncd.conf.yo.
- Collect material that applies to all daemon filters in the documentation of
the "filter" parameter, and make it more complete and coherent.
- Amplify the recommendation to exclude entire subtrees properly since the
excluded_below check is easy to circumvent and I have proposed removing it
altogether.
- The `Only one "X" parameter can apply to a given module' wording

[patch] --link-dest
Updated to current cvs without the --exclude-from - patch.
This patch allows specifying a --link-dest path similar to
--compare-dest except that unchanged files are hard-linked to the
--link-dest path instead of producing a sparse tree.

[patch] exclude-from stdin
This patch causes --exclude-from and --include-from to read
from STDIN when given - for a filename.
This was formerly incorporated in my --link-dest patch.
Patch against current cvs.

rsync connection limit
Hello!
In the attached file is patch for the option to set client connection limit.
We had problem for dead hosts, so default system timeout is not enough.
--conlimit option added
Will be great to see this patch in the future version, so we do not need
to patch every time.
Thanks and Cheers, Eugene.

Patch for stderr logging
Rsync team, and interested parties:
i was attempting to get rsync to launch from tcpserver[0] (an inetd
replacement from djb) and log to stderr for logging via multilog[1]
(syslog replacement by djb) and i was unable to get it to log to stdout/
stderr at all.

[trivial patch] link overloaded
This is just a trivial documentation change. The word
"link" is overloaded. It refers to symlinks, hardlinks and
network links. When looking for references to file links in
the manpages the network references get in the way.
This patch changes when reasonable to do so the word "link"
to "connection" when referring to the network.
This is just a suggested

[PATCH] allow to change the block size used to handle sparse files
In some filesystems, typically optimized for large I/O throughputs (like
IBM GPFS, IBM SAN FS, or distributed filesystems in general) a lot of
lseek() operations can strongly impact on performances. In this cases it
can be helpful to enlarge the block size used to handle sparse files
directly from a command line parameter.
For example, using a sparse write size of 32KB, I've been able to

rsync.yo doc patch
Patch includes fixes to man page including:
- Typos/Spelling
- Clarity
- Special characters.
- Moved around text explaining example.
Make sure I didn't confuse the exclude list/file paragraph (line ~961
after applying the patch), I haven't used the feature and the motive of
that paragraph is a tad unclear.
Hope the patch is helpful.
Never had used yodl before.
Thanks for rsync.

csum-length documentation
I was startled to find that the --csum-length option is not
implemented even though it is documented in the manpage.
Not a good thing.
Here's a patch that removes the manpage entry. I'd much
rather not see this option and actually have the csum_length
be per-file dynamic. Either way this patch should be
applied at least until the code changes.
The patch also brings rsync.1 and

[PATCH] ignore-non-existing-directory: add variant of ignore-non-existing
From: "Robin H. Johnson" <robbat2 at gentoo.org>
Add new option --ignore-non-existing-directory, that is a variant of
--ignore-non-existing, but applies ONLY to directories.
This was previously proposed in bug #8366, but I indepentantly had a use
case for it in the Gentoo infrastructure.

A simpler move-files patch
In an effort to get my long-desired move-files functionality into rsync,
I have created a version of my patch that runs as an extra pass at the
end of the processing. This results in a simpler set of changes to
rsync.
I still think it would be nice to have incremental deletions during
large transfers (as my first patch provides), but acceptance of this
patch would relegate such quibbling to a
