More Tests for 2.4.0-RC2 - strange behaviour
Hi all, I was trying to test ROUTE specific code with a multi-isp serviced box. There is a bug somewhere, but I''m not able to understand what the real problem is: when I issue a "shorewall show capabilities" I get: Loading /usr/share/shorewall/functions... Processing /etc/shorewall/params ... Processing /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf... Loading Modules... Shorewall has

RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Hi List, I am new at this and trying to set up shorewall. I was using mnf-en to do it but it was using an old version of shorewall (shorewall-2.0.8-2mdk) and didn''t have the features I wanted. So I''ve installed shorewall-2.4.0-1mdk. Other bits of interest: iproute2-2.6.10-1mdk iptables-1.2.9-8mdk I''m trying to get the providers feature working. show capabilities:

Updated Shorewall build and publish scripts
Attached please find updated build and publish scripts. They set the ''ulink.target'' parameter appropriately when converting docbook->HTML. I have always hacked my xhtml/params.xsl file to set this parameter; these updated scripts make that abomination unnecessary. Paul/Mike: It might be a good idea to add a CVS project for these scripts. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is

Add burst when using shorewal internal tc
I''m using shorewall 3.0.4 and had started using the internal tc option recently. I noticed that the tc rules for the classes I created don''t have the burst parameter (although the ingress qdisc does). I think it would be nice if there was a burst by default (and of course it would even be better if it were configurable). Here''s a patch to the firewall script, adding

Feature request: script generation
I did not subscribe to the list. I''ve been using shorewall for some time and I appreciate it very much. I think it would be useful to have an option to generate a script of the commands Shorewall is about to issue, instead of issuing the commands directly. This script could then be used for revision, modification, and could also be used on another system. I thought about modifying

Shorewall 4.5.15 Beta 1
Beta 1 is now availablew for testing. Problems Corrected: 1) Previously, the Shorewall and Shorewall6 install.sh scripts did two things wrong with respect to the /etc/shorewall[6]/routes file: - The existing file was unconditionally removed. - A skeleton file was not installed when SPARSE was not set in the shorewallrc file. MASQUERADE problem again...
Dear list members, Masquerading does''not work for me. This is a Mandrake Linux 10 system, but I use another kernel, that included in the original distribution (original: 2.6.3, now used 2.6.8 because of a lot of suck with OpenSwan with kernels prior 2.6.4). The problem seems to be similar or identical mentioned here:

Plans for 2.4.0
Hi folks, Has anyone tested the changes to multiple ISPs/load balancing or routestopped in 2.4.0-RC1 yet? We need to talk about what criteria we will use for determining whether 2.4.0 is ready for release. I''ve started configuring a firewall at work with the multiple ISPs support, but its kernel doesn''t have connection marking support, so it''s going to be a couple of

[*] shorewall requirements - which command
Tom, I''m setting up a new firewall using shorewall-2.0.3a. The box was installed with the minimum, almost only the kernel. before installing shorewall, I installed iptables 1.2.9 and iproute2. Then I did a manual ./install.sh from the directory extracted from the tarball. When I issued a shorewall start, I received hundreds of errors like: /usr/share/shorewall/firewall: line 5520:
