[Bug 11013] New: [patch] Mention that privileges are dropped, when "use chroot" is enabled in rsyncd.conf manpage
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Only root can chown. If rsync isn't running as root then it ignores
the --owner part of --archive. This also makes --numeric-ids inert.
Simply put, if you aren't running as root then you can only create
files owned by your UID. Rsync knows this. Rsync assumes that if you
aren't root you didn't intend the --owner (or --group) part

doveadm search -A problem with dropped privileges
Hello,
if you want to answer to this mail, please send it directly to me.
I have found a big issue with the following command "doveadm -search -A". It
whatsoever works by setting doveadm_worker_count = 0 in the dovecot.conf
configuration file.
The problem is that doveadm-server or something similar uses privileges of
"nobody" and so it fails searching e-mails. Instead also

Cannot access HOME folder after upgrading to 4.8 from 4.6
Hello-
I upgraded Samba from 4.6 to 4.8 on a FreeBSD 11.2 server. After the upgrade, users cannot access the HOME folder share but they can access other shares just fine.
I am using the RID backend on this member server that connects to Windows-based domain controllers. I apologize for the lengthy smb4.conf but here it is:

persp plot
I have a set of data in the form
x1, y1, z1
x1, y2, z2
...
x1, yN, zN
x2, y1, z(N+1)
x2, y2, z(N+2)
...
x2, yN, z(2N)
...and so on...
xM, yN, val(M*N)
I have been trying to figure out how to get R to use this data in a
persp plot. So far the only thing that I can figure out to do is to
break the data file into three different files. The first file
contains the x-coordinate data:
x1
x2

Dovecot 1.2.11 renames Maildir filenames on first read of foreign POPstore - how to avoid
Greetings,
I'm converting from a custom POPstore ( > 100,000 messages) which is
Maildir-like and uses the filename as the UIDL and doesn't store it
inside the message. I'm wondering whether there is hope for config-file
options to keep devecot from renaming files when it first sees them,
or whether I'm going to need to create a new backend for dovecot based
on Maildir.

heal info OK but statistics not working
1) one peer, out of four, got separated from the network,
from the rest of the cluster.
2) that unavailable(while it was unavailable) peer got
detached with "gluster peer detach" command which succeeded,
so now cluster comprise of three peers
3) Self-heal daemon (for some reason) does not start(with an
attempt to restart glusted) on the peer which probed that
fourth peer.

No manpage for "doveadm fts" command
Just wanted to make sure this issue was registered separately from the
overall confusion I'm exploring in another thread, even though I mention
this there too.

Manpage states "-C" is an exclude pattern when it's actually a filter rule
Hey,
I recently tried to use the "-C" filter rule in a file with exclude
patterns and was stumped for a while when it didn't work as I expected
(it was supposed to expand to exclude patterns for several version
control files/directories, like .git, .hg, .svn etc.). This is the link
to the pastebin with the pattern file and the rsync invocation I used,

Bug#570066: xen-utils-common: Please document this. See diff note in manpage
Package: xen-utils-common
Version: 4.0.0-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
I think would be good to have a note in manpage about this issue. Will save time to many people which will search about xmlproc in squeeze.
