Changing IP Scope on a Samba DC
OK.. after school ended today, I poked around and found nothing so I started all over again. Followed Louis' instructions at https://github.com/thctlo/samba4/blob/master/full-howto-Ubuntu18.04-samba-AD_DC.txt all the way through but at the end, the resolver is not working - and kinit cannot find a KDC (I'm guessing because the resolver is not working!) This is the only server on the

Samba shares with Windows ACL's
Please note, i dont have the 4.13 packages ready for focal yet. Its a bit delayed due office work here. So, if you on Ubuntu Focal, just use the 4.12.x for now. And.. Have patience. ;-) Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens > Rowland penny via samba > Verzonden: woensdag 4 november 2020 21:28 > Aan:

Input from xen hosting providers?
This is my second mail because the first one turned into a two page novel. Basically my question is this, what is your opinion on the following, in regards to having to know about the os and USE in your hosting environtment. Here is my problem... We have a sales guy that sold people on the idea of having 4 windows clients, and 2 "filestore" servers. filestore1 backs up to filestore2 so

Replication error on newly joined DC
OK. I have been trying to add a DC. I've followed the instructions to build a DC that are on the Samba Wiki, ( https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory) bouncing around all the links to install and configure Bind9. I've built it on ubuntu 22.04 Jammy with the addition of the repos from Michael Tokarev. I've started Samba..... and it errors

Can''t boot HVM Win2k8 R2 x64 DVD ISO (Viridian?)
Hi all, I''m stuck with a peculiar problem. I have CentOS 5.5 and Xen. I have numerous Windows 2003 guests and never had this problem. An application requires SQL server 2008 which is requiring Windows Server 2008. I downloaded the 2.8 Gig install DVD ISO. I create a new guest and connect the ISO as hdc. The system starts and says "Starting Windows" but hangs and no

Ugh on new bios.
Just so others know. On my EVGA motherboard the option to boot removable media didn't work on my usb flash drive with syslinux on it. Yesterday I tried updating the version of syslinux and seeing if that would wok. Frustrated with it not working I moaned and groaned and my brother decided to look for options in the bios that I might have missed. He couldn't find anything. But I decided to

Hi From reeBSD 9.3-RELEASE amd64: Compiles ok Installs ok On startup 1: Error about new config settings (adjusted) On startup 2: doveadm(root): Error: net_connect_unix(/var/run/dovecot//stats-writer) failed: Connection refused It seems to work so far. Okay, I was hoping it has something to do with where I am stuck compiling. Could you kindly share your configure options? Mine which has always worked with Dovecot versions prior to 2.3 is refusing to work on FreeBSD i386. <cut> mv -f .deps/test_auth_cache-test-auth-cache.Tpo .deps/test_auth_cache-test-auth-cache.Po clang -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../src/lib -I../../src/lib-auth

Asterisk and Huawei SoftX3000
Hi folks! I have a problem with our Sip provider that have a Softswitch Huawei SoftX3000 to send us SIP calls to our Asterisk PBX, we are working with G711 with them. They start sending calls to our pbx, some time after they start to receive 408 messages from asterisk and some time after this they start to complete calls normally, I don?t know what can be wrong. Someone has configured asterisk to
