winbind offline logon
Hi all, I have a problem in libpam-winbind: offline logon doesn't seems to work. The first version of samba in which I have found the problem is 4.1 and the last is 4.7 but I fear that newer version are affected too. Hopefully there is a workaround: you have to remove krb5_ccache_type=FILE from /etc/pam.d/common-auth I have opened a bug report[ยน] where you can find more details. Any one

Doubled Quotas on Ubuntu
Hi all, I'm seeing doubled quotas on Windows 7 when connecting to Samba. By doubled, I mean that if I set a 1GB group quota on Linux, I see a 2GB quota on Windows 7. The quotas seem correct with Samba 3.6.19 running on a Linux 2.6.32 kernel on Mandriva; they are incorrect with Samba 3.6.22 on a Linux 3.12 kernel on Ubuntu. What could be wrong? In more detail, I'm testing on both a

accessing foreign AD users to NT domain
Hi all, I'm planning to migrate a NT domain to a AD domain. Someone suggested me to create a new AD domain, then add manually users to AD with the same username and password of the NT domain and then join every PC to the new AD domain. This way the migration should be flawlessly because in a windows network a user can works on foreign resources (resources that are shared from server

with streams_xattr enabled, ads are written correctly but not retrieved
Hello, I'm running Samba 3.6.6-1 on my x64 Arch Linux installation. I recently decided to have my samba share support NTFS's Alternate Data Streams by using streams_xattr or streams_depot. With streams_xattr I discovered that if I copy a file having an ADS from a win7 box, on the linux console, I can see the ADS as an xattr attached to the file. However when I copy the file back to my

Dear All I have a PCBSD machine with /media shared using samba. Any microsoft clients can successfully connect to /media and browse directories I have created there. When I plug in a usb device, I mount it into /media eg: one labelled "PENDRIVE" becomes /media/PENDRIVE Some clients can successfully read /media/PENDRIVE, others cannot.
