odd issue with permisions
I'm really confused about something. It seems like on my samba server the user AND GROUP permissions must match for me to access any files in my home directory. Here's an example of what I mean: ($ = at unix shell, > = in smbclient) $ mkdir ~dan/test1 $ chmod 700 ~dan/test1 $ smbclient -U dan //localhost/dan > cd test1 > put test1.txt (failure, NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED) > quit

32bit DC for 64bit machines?
Question, ??? Since a samba DC's main purpose is simply user authentication, is there any kind of problem with having a 32bit DC managing things for a 64bit domain? I need to share files and printers on the domain I'm setting up, and I've read all the warnings about having a separate DC vs. file/print server. I know that people say you can use a virtual machine as a separate server

Spam learning for rspamd
I'm quite new to Dovecot, so forgive me if this is a simple question. I've got rspamd running, and it's rewriting the subject of many messages as spam even when they are not. I've moved things out of the spam folder, which I was under the impression would teach rspamd since I've connected a sieve script that is supposed to call rspamd's learning tool, but nothing is

can't create directories/files on network share
Hey folks, I'm experiencing some weird errors all of a sudden. I have not made any changes to the config but for some reason I cannot create files/directories on my network share. An example would be the error I get when I try to update the virus signatures on my portable ClamWin install: ERROR: Can't open ..\..\..\Data\log\ClamScanLog.txt in append mode (check permissions!). Procmail with Dovecot
Hey folks, here's a question. I want to enable procmail for the users so that they can have their incoming messages sorted info various folders and such regardless of MUA access or web access. I know I can set procmail to deliver to a maildir, but wouldn't that screw up dovecot's indexes? If it would, what can I do to ensure that the indexes stay correct? Thanks! -- Dan Egli On my

workflow using git for translations
I did a first set of minor translations to become familiar with the process. These changes have been committed in "main" wine git (how do you call it?). In the meanwhile, I did a bunch of changes. Now I want to create a patch for these changes. I did a > git stash save (and I had a copy of the file somewhere else) and then a > git pull Auto-merging po/pt_PT.po CONFLICT
