This is why I'm posting here :-) I joined the RODC following the procedure available on the wiki page

Samba 4.8 RODC not working
If its really urgent then u would really suggest, invest in samba a bit and pay them to get this working. Thats what sernet can do for you. Get commercial support.   Im pretty much out of options, execpt upgrade to 4.8 and try it again.     Greetz,   Louis     Van: Gaetan SLONGO [mailto:gslongo at it-optics.com] Verzonden: woensdag 13 juni 2018 10:40 Aan: Rowland Penny; L.P.H. van Belle

DNS Update Failed
Hi I disabled even the windows server firewall to see if this is what it was blocking, but it didn't solve it. There appear to be Kerberos key errors, but the kinit administrator command works correctly. /usr/sbin/samba_dnsupdate:; TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure Regards, M?rcio Bacci Em sex, 2 de ago de 2019 ?s 15:51, Marcio Demetrio Bacci < marciobacci at gmail.com>

Hello, samba team. I provisioned Samba 4.8 wich compiled from sources as DC with --use-rfc2307 parameters. It is fresh installation of Domain controller. All functions are working, but i can not enable (apply group policies = yes) parameter,to provide Default Domain Password policies from GPO. That I did wrong? Thank you. root at dc4samba:~# cat /usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf # Global parameters

It was my understanding that winbind wasn't necessary for Samba4. This server has been running for months without it. Ok, thank you--that worked, but it doesn't make sense. The server's been operational for months without winbind. Did something change in Samba that it won't operate now without it? I specifically remember reading that winbind wasn't necessary and, in fact, wasn't recommended with Samba 4 AD. On Tue, Apr 19, 2016 at 1:27 PM Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> wrote:
