azure ad provisioning | password hashes sync
Hi,
Meanwhile we have discovered this bug report:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10635
where Andrew is asking to test again with modern versions as a first
step towards a solution.
So I will start upgrading our DCs to latest in de coming period, to see
if that helps anything.
Strange also that the reporter of bug 10635 is seeing all kinds of error
messages logged in azure, and

Problem while log on: Windows Server 2008 R2 in samba domain
Hi,
I have a strange problem with a Windows Server 2008 R2-System as a member of a samba domain (Samba-Version on PDC: 3.4.12).
Join was successfully, but when I log on Windows I got an error "Unknown user name or bad password." (Event ID 4625).
Here an abstract of logfile for Windows Server 2008 R2-System (log level 10). Maybe some of you has an idea:

domain trust relationship with AD 2003 and user profile and home directory problems
Hi!
We have a PDC for EEKS domain, running samba 3.2.0 FC9 64 bit, with the
following trust relationships:
one way trust where EEKS trusts ITL domain which is running Samba 3.0.30
FC8 64 bit
two way trust between EEKS and ADEEKS domain which is running Windows
Server 2003.
Now for a given Windows XP SP2 workstation in EEEKS domain:
1. User logs onto ITL domain through the trust relationship and

Computer in Samba 4.3.11 domain - logon server unavailable
We've a Samba 4 domain (no AD, just DC) with LDAP backend on Ubuntu 14.04. This server has been migrated from files backend to LDAP by the previous maintainer, I know the version is pretty old but we cannot update at the moment.
The domain works fine with some W7 and W10 (updated from 7) computers, but we have purchased a new Lenovo laptop with Win10 which joined the domain seamlessly but

Trouble resolving some group membership after upgrade from 4.8 to 4.10
Hello,
I had been running Samba 4.8 for a few years without any problems, and then upgraded to 4.10. Since then I?ve been having problems with some accounts connecting, while some connect fine still. I haven?t been able to figure out why. My server is a relatively simple standalone server, using the LDAP password backend.
A failing user authenticates OK and ends up like this in the logs:

problem with listing users on winXP/2k+3
Hello list,
Some days ago i sent an email to this ML about a problem im having with listing
users on winXP/2k+3 computers.
The thing is our samba PDC has +1600 users and, this time i counted, there only
appear on the "security advanced settings" list box (where we select users that
can read/write/execute on a windows directory share), about 500/550 users.
There is no evident reason

v3.0.2a: can't login into domain after switching to pdb_mysql
Hello list.samba.org
FreeBSD-5.2.1, samba from port with tdbsam-backend configured as PDC
Everything is working fine: i.e. registering at samba domain and logging on
to it,
but after I switch to mysql-backend (pdb-mysql)
I can only successfully register my Windows 2k3 at Samba domain
(messagebox 'Welcome to slavel.ru domain' has appiered),
i.e. can successfully change domain of my

How to get password expiration?
Actually is there a way to show it more like a timestamp. It is hard to
compute days left with a date format like that. I guess I could use date to
do the conversion but I was wondering if there is a cleaner way

How to get password expiration?
This seems to work for maxPwdAge
ldapsearch -LLL -Q -s base -h ad.mydomain.tld -b dc=ad,dc=mydomain,dc=tld
maxPwdAge
now I just need to query a users pwdLastSetq
I tried the commands above but am not getting anything. I tried looking at
the ungrepped output but I don't see how to link the pwdLastSet with any
user. I get a long list.
I think I'm looking for dn: and a matching pwdLastSet?

Update from pdbsql (MySQL) to LDAP
Hi All!
I have a Samba as PDC for my domain MY_NETWORK running normally.
What I want to do is to install another server with OpenLDAP as
backend, and migrate the users and the domain to it.
Can anyone point me how to do it?
Below is my configuration.
# smbd -V
Version 3.2.15-0.36.fc10
# uname -a
Linux svrmain2 2.6.27.35-170.2.94.fc10.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Oct 1

Some hint reading password expiration data...
In my current ''production'' NT-like domain (samba 4.2, OpenLDAP
backend), password policies seems to ''get written'' to user data.
EG, if i set:
pdbedit -P "maximum password age" -C 7776000
and i change my password, 'Password must change' have a meningful value,
eg 90 days more then the last password change:
root at armitage:~# pdbedit -v

how to submit patches ? (patch for pdb_xml.c included)
Dear Sirs,
I wrote a patch for pdbedit (pdb_xml.c) which handles cases with national
alphabet characters in GECOS fields. I sent it directly to Jelmer
Vernooij, but there was no answer.
Who can review the supplied patch ?
Cheers,
Ilia Chipitsine

samba + mysql
Hello,
I've recently tried to change samba (Version 3.0.20b) from smbpasswd
auth to mysql(5) auth using a remote mysql server. To generate my
database table I used the supplied file in the samba vanilla
distribution under examples/pdb/mysql called 'mysql.dump'. Then I used
pdbedit -i smbpasswd -e mysql:blah to migrate of course. That yielded
some column entry problem so I tried to add
