Issues joining DC
Dear all. Let me make a shot brief of the issue I'm currently experiencing that has been published in a couple of threads. Now I'm going to join them here. Current scenario. Centos7 running a Samba 4.6.5. Any kind of problem at client side, all seems to runs fine. But in some cases the AD objects appears on Windows clients as their SID instead of their name. ldb errors after upgrade, cause?
L.P.H. van Belle via samba writes: > Is samba-dsdb-modules installed ? Yes, I checked again, and all packages are installed, all of them with the proper version, and no leftovers. This server works fine for a half a day, and then these errors happen, so I think it's unlikely that it's related to the install itself. I have already made a backup of all tdb files with tdbbackup and

Hello, copying idmap is fairly straightforward. 1) on your first DC (that one that has PDC FSMO, and is the source for rsync) create backup of idmap.ldb tdbbackup -s .bak /path/to/samba/private/idmap.ldb it will create idmap.ldb.bak 2) stop samba service on second DC 3) copy idmap.ldb.bak from first dc to second dc, lose the .bak suffix and just copy it over idmap.ldb on second dc 4)

ldb errors after upgrade, cause?
Hi list, for future reference: we haven't been able to fix it. Upgrading to 4.9.18 didn't help, so in the end we decided to downgrade to our previous version (4.5.12) which doesn't have this problem. Hooray for tdbbackup! Thanks Louis for thinking with us. Best regards, Roel And for Google: smbd[16461]: ldb: Failure during ltdb_lock_read(): Locking error ? Busy smbd[16461]:
