Import OpenLDAP schema
Hi, I'm trying to figure out to import the schema below to Samba LDAP. I tried to modify class names, DN etc but it didn't help. I don't paste here because of some long lines. Here is the link of ldif file: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Pardus-LiderAhenk/lider-ahenk-installer/master/src/conf/liderahenk.ldif Thanks. --- Taner Tas

Add Schema Attributes to AD
Is it possible to easily add schema attributes to Samba's AD? For instance, I would like to add the folder that contains the user's mail with an attribute like "maildir" and a value like /domain.com/joesmith. Thank you.

Schema Update to store TPM data in AD DS
Hi all, has anyone here experience with storing BitLocker and TPM data in AD DS on Samba? I have stumbled across this Microsoft page ( https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-8.1-and-8/jj635854%28v%3dws.11%29) stating that Windows 2008 R2 needs a schema extension to handle this. Since this is not listed as a safe update in the wiki (

Migrate openLDAP into Samba AD
Hi, we moved (or still are moving) our users manually from our Samba NT4 Domain with LDAP to a Samba AD (4.7.6). We had a few schema extensions in our openLDAP to feed some services (dovecot mail settings, nextcloud quota, ...). I would prefer to have only one place for our users, but I'm new to AD. I've read that I can extend the schema, which seems not too different from openLDAP, even

Extending Samba-4 Schema to get Microsoft LAPS working
Hi, I am trying to get the Microsoft LAPS working in my samba-4 AD environment. Microsoft LAPS requires us to extend the schema and add two attributes "ms-Mcs-AdmPwd" (Stores the password in plain text) and "ms-Mcs-AdmPwdExpirationTime" (Stores the time to reset the password). I have added the Group Policy part of Microsoft LAPS to Windows RSAT (on Windows Server 208 R2)

wiki.samba.org Samba AD schema extensions
Hello, a few minutes ago i was on this page in the wiki: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_schema_extensions Under the title "Disabled by default" there is a link "from metze" but this link goes to nowhere. Can somebody of the Samba Team fix the Link? Maybe Rowland once more? :) See you Dirk

oLschema2ldif segfault
I'm seeing a oLschema2ldif segfault when it comes across attributetypes with syntax '1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.5' that is a BINARY attribute. Is this by design? Can I store binary attributes in samba4 ldap? Thanks!

Samba4 LDAP Integration with Asterisk
Hi, I am turning crazy. I try to integrate Asterisk 11.5.1 into Samba4 LDAP, but when I import the ldif file from contrib directory I get this error. ldbmodify -H /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb asterisk.ldif --option="dsdb:schema update allowed"=true ERR: (No such object) "objectclass: Cannot add cn=asterisk,cn=schema,cn=config, parent does not exist!" on DN

Samba 4 Active Directory Quotas
I've been messing around with disk quotas for users and have seen some who have extended the Samba 4 AD schema to include a quota attribute. For example, I found this schema extension here: http://fossies.org/linux/quota/ldap-scripts/quota.schema Is there a common method for doing this? -- Greg J. Samba4 migration
I have a question ... How can I migrate existing LDAP users ( or schemas) on Ubuntu 10.04.2 to the new Samba4 (Ubuntu 12.04.2) server? Does anyone have an idea? Schema version 87 and windows Hello
Hi, thank you for your answer :) ohhh that is new I thought that samba 4 was to this day incompatible with a schema update >= v67 (it is I think somewhere it is written in the documentation that the reason why windows > 2016 can't be used as domain controller is partly due to the schema that is what bothered me)) I already have set up an ADFS (win 2016) (works with heimdal krb

Schema version 87 and windows Hello
Hi all, I would like to set up windows Hello (in the sense user and management are pressuring me) but for both option the schema would need to be at least 87 (windows 2016). I looked on the roadmap, bugzilla but couldn't find anything regarding this topic. Would you know when this version would be available and what is needed in order to achieve so? As a separate question, do you know good

Samba-4.8.5 and SCCM-5.0 Problem Extending the Schema
G'day All, We are trying to set up SCCM-5.0. Our AD test is Samba-4.8.5. SCCM requires schema changes, and Samba is rejecting these. Anyone tackled this? Ideas on how to proceed? The output thrown by the SCCM exe (extadsch.exe) is: Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager v5.00 (Build 8634) Copyright (C) 2011 Microsoft Corp. Failed to extend the Active Directory schema. Removal of mailist duplicates?
I am using mpop to fetch mail from my service provider (who use dovecot). I use dovecot to hold all my mail on a local slackware server, with sieve filters, based on 'List-Id', directing mailist postings to their own folders. I use thunderbird to read my mail on an ubuntu desktop. When I receive a reply to a posting I make to a mailist (such as this one), replies I receive are

upgrading from CentOS 7 to 8
Your answer has nothing to do with the original question which is related to upgrade method and not condition for reinstalling without loosing data. Sometimes you need to keep your configuration and want to avoid reconfiguring everything, and reimaging your computer keeping /home is not an option. Of course having all user files on a separate filesystem helps when reimaging the OS (that what I do

Make new server the "master"
Please forgive me, I'm not sure what terminology to use here so this question may sound wrong. I have built two servers samba servers with a new domain. They replicate happily and I can seem to do everything I could ever want on them. DC01 holds all the FSMO roles and, as the first one built, acts as the "master" for DNS. Nothing works well on either server if DC01 is not at the
