The group name could not be found
Hey guys,
It's me again.
Today I moved our NAS from our old 2000 domain to a new domain presided
over by two Samba 4.7.2 domain controllers.
After the move I cant access the NAS at all from my Windows 7 test pc. I
keep getting an error that "The group name could not be found"
I am at the end of my troubleshooting skills.
I also moved the NAS' samba from sernet-samba 4.1 to

winbind cache time?
Hello,
according to 'man smb.conf': Default: winbind cache time = 300
I have not changed it in smb.conf, but when I remove some user
from some group, command "groups DOMAIN+user" still shows
that user belongs to the group even after a few hours after removing
the user from that group. Any ideas why?
samba 3.0.15pre2.

Hai Ian,
Can you run this one again on both servers and pm me both outputs.
I'll have a good look.

Persistent Winbind gid cache
Hello Samba team !
I'm network administrator in a french high school where I store my
user/group ID using rfc2307. My client stations use Winbind to query
rfc2307 attributes.
Each new years, as all my students move to another class, almost all
my user's gid are updated in AD.
This gid is very important in my network because pam_mount mount only
the share corresponding the to user's

Problem with DTMF dialing
Hi all
I have a small problem here. I asked this question on another asterisk
mailing list, but nobody seemed to be able to help me there.
We are running
* Asterisk 1.4.17
* Libpri 1.4.3
* Zaptel 1.4.8
on a 1.6 dual core, 2GB ram and a digium TDM800P wildcard, hardware echo
cancelation and a quad FXO card.
We have 4 analog lines, one of which is a Cellphone line for least cost

Expiry of entries in netsamlogon_cache.tdb
I think we're suffering from bug 8641 at the moment:
https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8641
where the netsamlogon_cache.tdb entries are not expiring.
We use AD groups for our (redhat) server auth, and also use server-side group
auth for NFS (with the --manage-gids flag). So if a user is not in a group on
the server, they're denied access to files as per group permissions.

netsamlogon_cache.tdb & winbind.
All,
I wonder if someone can give me an idea what the file "netsamlogon_cache.tdb" contains... as I have noticed that I can be added to a group, and access will not appear on the Unix side for a good deal of time... but if I stop Winbind, remove the file "netsamlogon_cache.tdb", and re-start everything, it will then work.
Can anyone tell me what the purpose of this file is,

1. What do I need to user to cut off the users in mid call
2. What do I need to insert into my dialplan to deny a user to call
if you need any config files I will send them, seeing as I dont know what

Win {vista, 7} + Offline folders + samba + clamfs resulting in .tmp files.
Hi Guys
I am writing, hoping you could help me with this.
As the subject states, I have a Samba (3.4.7) server. On it I have
created 2 shares one that I access the files directly and the other
share I access the same files via clamfs (1.0.1).
Then I connect a Windows 7 machine to it. With offline files disabled,
I have no problems, however with offline files enabled I am getting a
lot of .tmp

can't seem to remove winbind cache
Hi
I have an issue with winbind where new information isn't being
transferred from my PDC. One of my users has changes their second
name, and I have added another user.
When I run getent passwd safa on the domain controller I get his new
name, when I run it on the domain server it returns the old
information. My new user doesn't show up with getent passwd or id.
I have tried
