Reverse DNS
Hi,
We have some issue with the reverse DNS in Samba AD. We're running Bind9_DLZ on Ubuntu 18.04. The DHCP server(Ubuntu 16.04) is different to the AD server and not in the same AD domain. The DHCP scope points to the Samba AD server as the DNS server
When a machine with DHCP assigned address tries to update the DNS record, it is able to update the forward zone but not the reverse zone. The

Authentication to Secondary Domain Controller initially fails when PDC is offline
Hai,
Ah, ok, wel, yeah, i was missing the NS on the SOA.
This is imo a bug, i dont know it this is by design for samba,
so maybe a samba dev can answere this since every joined DC should have a NS record on the SOA as far as i know, but thats my opinion and i can be wrong here.

pdc emulator dns record missing after transferring role
Hi,
Samba: 4.12.0
During the migration from Windows DCs to Samba DCs, the following issue came up:
after transferring PDC emulator role to a samba DC, the according DNS record
wasn't re-created:
# samba-tool fsmo show -d 0 | grep PdcEmulationMasterRole
PdcEmulationMasterRole owner: CN=NTDS

On a samba AD DC, the samba_dnsupdate script is run at start up and then
every 10 minutes, this script uses a file called dns_update_list
