Ancient SMB client issues
Actually, I made it work by adding the ?min server protocol = NT1? on the virtual dedicated server. So I guess that this will solve our dilemma (unless I missed something).
In any case, one of the robots now have access to the new server. Will try the second one as soon as I get a chance (they are busy bending steel ;:) )

Config error detected
Hi all
I have setup a Samba server for a client, and most things work fine
(except a strange problem with some clients and SMB1). However, when I
created the virtual server before migrating it to the client, I
obviously forgot to change a parameter.

netbios name = CLIENTNETBIOSNAME

Ancient SMB client issues
I have a customer with a couple of industrial robots running Linux 2.6.34 and Samba 3.4.7 (smbclient -V). They are able to connect to SMB shares on Windows servers IF I "allow unsafe connections?, ie lower the SMB minimum level. The servers are on Windows 2019, and this setup has worked for a couple of years now.
I have created a virtual Debian/Samba 4.19 server with the intention of moving

Hi
My lab setup:
A windows server 2019, configured as PDC called X

An Ubuntu 18 server w Samba 4.7, configured as a member server called Z
All are KVM virtual machines on a single host. IP and DNS works fine
between all.

Redirecting PHP error messages into a log file
Hello,
I'm using CentOS release 5.5 x86_64 with the stock php-5.1.6-27.el5
and would like to redirect PHP messages into /var/log/httpd/php_log
First I tried adding that file name to /etc/php.ini:
error_log = "/var/log/httpd/php_log"
and restarted httpd, but the file didn't appear.
I've touched it and changed owner to apache.apache,
but that didn't help.
Then I've

Question regarding Recycle
Hi
Samba 4.12 on Ubuntu 20.04
Windows 10 and 7 clients
I have configured recycle on two shares, /Users and /Documents.
vfs objects = recycle
recycle:versions = yes
recycle:keeptree = yes
On the Users share I have
recycle:repository = /share/data
On the Documents share I have
recycle:repository = .Papperskorg (recycle bin in Swedish)
The Document share recycle works. Folder was created and the

File timestamp issue
I am not convinced that it's a Samba issue, but someone might be able to
answer anyway
We replicate directories and files from a Windows 2019 server to two
destinations, both are supposed to be used in case of a disaster, but are
also used for some specific tasks. One of the replication targets is a
physical Windows 2012 server and the other one an Ubuntu/Samba virtual
machine. The Samba VM

Windows 7 logon slow on samba4 ad-dc
Hello I start to implement a samba 4 ad DC server, as a DC role.
I experience very slow logon machines with Windows 7, login on domain.
Finally logon correctly and work fine, but to logon takes 3/4 minutes each
time.
Regards.

Computer in Samba 4.3.11 domain - logon server unavailable

Thanks, but on what "topic"? Is there a specific param or config you think could be relevant?

Is this just for SMBv1 or because you think could be related to the login problem?

OK, you might as well remove these lines, they are defaults:
??????? client max protocol = SMB3
??????? client min protocol = SMB2
??????? server min protocol = SMB2
I would also remove these:
??????? acl group control =

smbd could not access share directory on drbd (8.3 on Centos 5 i386)
Dear, all. I am pulling my hair because I could not find any error
messsages that could point me to a fix to my problem.
The directory I want to share was mounted on /home with drbd and
heartbeat but then my users could not access any shares / their home
directories. However, if I set up shares else where on my box like
share under /opt or /usr/local, then the same users would be able to
access
