Re: Getting "unknown device type" when attaching NPIV (vHBA) to vm
Thank you for your reply,
I'm still getting hard time to attach the hostdev, I couldn't make it work out of the doc.
I took the address details from:
# ll /sys/bus/scsi/devices/7:*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Feb 8 12:58 /sys/bus/scsi/devices/7:0:0:0 -> ../../../devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.0/0000:08:00.1/host7/rport-7:0-0/target7:0:0/7:0:0:0

Getting "unknown device type" when attaching NPIV (vHBA) to vm
Hi,
I'm trying to attach a host FC HBA to VM (NPIV).
Running ovirt 3.5 on CentOS 6.7, libvirt-0.10.2-46.el6_6.6.x86_64, I created vHBA using nodedev-create command - see below HBA and vHBA.
I wrote a vdsm hook which appends the vHBA xml stanza to the devices xml element but the vm start starts without the vHBA device.
Also, when trying to attach the device manually as a live device - I get:

samba-tool backup offline not available (version 4.9.6) ?
Hello,
I've just upgraded to 4.9.6 and can't seem to be able to use the
'offline' backup? It seems that the only options are: online, rename,
and backup.
Can someone confirm this?
I plan to get to migrating to 4.10.2, but I'm doing it incrementally:
v4.7.6 -> v4.8.11 -> v4.9.6 -> v4.10.2
Before going to the v4.10.2, I want to backup my AD database using

getent problems with new Samba version
Sorry for the serial posting, but ... anxious ...
I think there must be a bug in Samba 4.4.8, this all worked with 4.2.14.
To summarize (details in attached messages), since upgrading from Samba 4.2.14 to 4.4.8, getent
returns the wrong UID:GID. This is causing permission errors in programs like dovecot who try
to read/write to Maildir files having the correct UID:GID.
With 4.4.8 I now have

Progress on dns_dlz. At least I got things loading. If I don't include
