Samba AD-DC on FreeBSD-12.1 Jail
I decided to scrap everything and restart from the very beginning. I created a new jail. I installed samba410 samba-nsupdate py37-dnspython as these are current. I provisioned a domain: samba-tool domain provision --adminpass=INstall166 --dns-backend=SAMBA_INTERNAL --dnspass=INstall166 --domain=BROCKLEY --host-name=SMB4-1 --host-ip=192.168.8.166 --option="bind interfaces only=yes"

I did not include enough of /var/log/samba4/smbd.log. IPSec Racoon and Port Forwarding
Hello, I have given myself quite the headache trying to make this VPN work correctly. I am attempting to use racoon to establish keys and construct an encrypted tunnel between one host(A.A.A.A) with a routable IP address and another that has a private address(10.0.0.2) with a cable modem(B.B.B.B) forwarding all ports to the private address(10.0.0.2). Here is a quick topographic dipiction of the

still mbuf leak in 9.0 / 9.1?
Hi list, since we activated 10gbe on ixgbe cards + jumbo frames(9k) on 9.0 and now on 9.1 we recognize that after a random period of time, sometimes a week, sometimes only a day, the system doesn't send any packets out. The phenomenon is that you can't login via ssh, nfs and istgt is not operative. Yet you can login on the console and execute commands. A clean shutdown isn't possible

Couple of little things I noticed with a new RELENG_7 AMD64 box (as of yesterday) ifstat from the ports cannot seem to find interfaces for some reason ? It works fine on i386 [ns8]# ifstat -b ifstat: no interfaces to monitor! [ns8]# [ns8]# ifconfig em0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500

bge drivers does not work for 3COM 3C996-SX / 3C996B-T
I'm experiencing similar problems with a 3C996-T under 4.8-REL. In particular, connecting a 4.8-REL machine to a 5.1-REL machine leads to some interesting situations: I can do simple pings across the link, but ssh fails, and heavy pings crash the 4.8 machine. Similarly changing the interface configuration with ifconfig tends to crash the 4.8 machine (mtu, link0, up/down, etc). The

Samba-4.11 AD DC provisioning fails
I decided to restart the provisioning process. I stopped the samba_server, deleted /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf and /var/db/samba4. I then decided to do an interactive provisioning and this is the result: [root at smb4-1 ~ (master)]# ll /var/samba4 ; ll /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf ls: /var/samba4: No such file or directory ls: /usr/local/etc/smb4.conf: No such file or directory [root at smb4-1 ~

my file transfers are incredibly slow
My problem is there I download and archive my work to the freebsd server via samba. When I'm transfering files from the windows -> freebsd I will get anywhere between 20-100kB/s and from freebsd -> windows I will get a few mbps. I'm getting no where near a full 100mbps and both ethernet cards are set for 100mbps full duplex working great. I've tried increasing buffer sizes on
