Global Catalogue
Hello.. Can we promote the Samba AD DC (Version 4.6) to be a global catalogue server? We need to integrate Websense Proxy with this and Proxy server searches Global Catalogue on Port 3268. -- Thanks & Regards, Anantha Raghava eXzaTech Consulting And Services Pvt. Ltd. AD Users on Linux Laptop
Hai Rowland, Maybe i didnt understand your reply that well, but why would you change it. All (linux) users have minimum_uid=1000 and start at 1000. All (windows) users (samba) are above minimum_uid=1000 So in my optinion, you should not be needed to change this. Unless your users start below 1000. Also cat /etc/adduser.conf shows ( For Debian/Buster ) # FIRST_[GU]ID to LAST_[GU]ID

logging to syslog does not distinct between errors notice and warning.
Hi If I run puppetd on a client with -l console I see things like: ... warning: //Node[default]/packages/ notice: ... err: ... ... Here puppet makes a distinction between errors, notice and warning. But it I run puppet without the -l option, I see the entries in /var/ log/messages. But there puppet makes no distiction between errors, warnings etc....: Nov 19 10:26:12 puppetd[28676]: Starting

Floating IPv6 in a cluster (as NFS-Ganesha VIP)
Hi all, I love this project, Gluster and Ganesha are amazing. Thank you for this great work! The only thing that I miss is IPv6 support. I know that there are some challenges and that?s OK. For me it?s not important whether Gluster servers use IPv4 or IPv6 to speak each other and replicate data. The only thing that I?d like to have is a floating IPv6 for clients when I use Ganesha (just IPv6,

I Have Multiple Ips But Can Only Telnet to One Interface. Not the subinterface. How to Fix?
Hi guys, I have multiple IPs bound to my Centos 6.6 box but I can only telnet to one IP. Any ideas on what to do? I've searched the internet so far with every keyword I can think of to no avail. I can see that postfix is only listening on the first IP and to localhost. The IP I cannot smtp to is on ETH0:1. I can access it via port 80 (web traffic) but the connection is refused if i try to

Hi trish, i have postfix configured to listen on that ip... it's still not listening. see below: # Note: you need to stop/start Postfix when this parameter changes. # #inet_interfaces = all #inet_interfaces = $myhostname #inet_interfaces = $myhostname, localhost inet_interfaces = 172.30.1.65 # Enable IPv4, and IPv6 if supported inet_protocols = all -- Mike McKoy *404.590.7176*

Windows 10 Client - Samba 3 Server - NT4 Style PDC
I suggest reading this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-by-default-in-windows Imo, the longer you wait with samba AD the harder it gets to get things running. You could better spend you time on settting up and migrating to AD the keep putting time in a dying product. But thats my optinion. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- >
