Hello everybody, I am trying to use the backend = rid but it is not showing me group information of the users after adding the user to the domain groups... What should I do to have the full group info for the users available? https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Idmap_config_rid # All domain's user accounts and groups are automatically available on the domain member. root at s4ad01:~#

Try running 'net cache flush' and then try

Which Debian version do you use? Because in either version (0 oer 10) in nsswitch.conf is wirtten "files winbind" in Debian 9 it's "compat winbind" and in 10 it's "files systemd winbind" so you removed (I think) systemd maybe you should put it back in Am 01.05.20 um 02:12 schrieb miguel medalha via samba: >> I am trying to use the backend = rid but it

Am I wrong to expect that id user and getent group should list me the groups the user is part of. For example wbinfo --group-info=office shows me that user jdoe and lgaga are part of the group, but then when doing id jdoe or id lgaga the office group is not shown, neither in getent group. What should I change in my config to have full group information working? root at samba01:~# wbinfo

how to use root preexec on user share with %U not as root user
Hello everybody, I am trying to get samba 4 to make a user dir without the use of ADUC to set the homeDirectory, but with samba-tool user create only. I created a root preexec but the %U is filled with root and not the username of the user. I need to user [users] and not the old [homes] because I got a GPO for redirection to the //server/users/%USERNAME% and I need this folder to be created

Expected behaviour of domain\administrator on Linux AD domain member
Dear all, I have set a small test domain in virtualbox. 1. Samba AD DC on Debian bullseye testing 4.11.6 2. Samba domain member Debian Stretch 4.10.14 3. Windows 10 Enterprise evaluation version 1909 Roaming profiles with folder redirection setup. PAM working. The above was setup basically using guides in wiki.samba.org, with nearly the only thing changed was SAMDOM to SAMBA. "Unix

AD Member Server and 'vfs objects recycle' permission problems
Hi, on our samba 4 domain member server we use the vfs objects module 'recycle'. Unfortunately we ran into a strange permission problem with deleted folders. The newly created folders in the recycle folder have the wrong permission. The deleted file(s) itself has the correct group (rw) permissions. The shares correct permissions: getfacl Papierkorb/ # file: Papierkorb/ # owner: root #
