[EXTERNAL] Could not access a share as a guest
Hi Ashok, That solved this issue and moved ahead of that IPC$ share access issue. Thanks for that. Now, I am seeing the below error. Please note I am new to samba world. Pardon me if I am asking for more. Meanwhile I too will check smb.conf online doc and my smb.conf for any conflicting configurations. How to build samba-debuginfo rpm from samaba source
Hi Samba team, Is there a command or a way to build samba-debuginfo rpm from the samba source. I have been through wiki.samba.org, but failed to find out. Explored the Makefile targets, even there I did not find the make target to build debuginfo package or RPM. Thanks in advance for your help. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Writing_a_Samba_VFS_Module -> this page mentions to install

[EXTERNAL] Could not access a share as a guest
Appreciate your help. Yes that is true. Those files are created by some other Application(which are shared through samba). Ran wireshark, captured the packets and filtered for SMB2. Attached SMB2 filtered packets in a plain text format. I don't know what is happening from the packet tracing. SMB did create request, create response and immediately close request & close response.

Help! How do I make Samba3 + Winbind drop the domain\ on a user's account?
Hello, We have moved from PBIS to Samba + winbind. In PBIS, after logging in to a SSH session, the prompt (user context?) would be: username at hostname: Now, after logging in, the prompt is: domain\username at hostname: How do I make it drop the "domain\" ? This causes issues in other areas as passing "\" is an illegal character. Should we change the "\" to

Heterogeneous mix OS smb share home redirection
I have been reading every article I can find to determine how to share home directory redirection across multiple OS workstations. (On Ubuntu, leaning toward using winbind
