Samba 4.10 / CentOS 7
Ok Thank you Andrew So I assume it is reasonable to install all packages listed for the CentOS8 in a CentOS7 server , I already have EPEL repo configured. Our Samba 4.9 AD DC is source compiled and I would like to upgrade by compiling and installing 4.10 . So my other question is : is it possible to have python3 and python2 live together on the same server ? Thanks Le mar. 31 mars 2020 ?

Don't install centos8 packages on an centos7 system, it would probably break some things. Instead -add- the python3 rpms for Centos7. > Our Samba 4.9 AD DC is

python dist-utils and python-config [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]
UNOFFICIAL Hi, I'm trying to build samba-latest on CentOS 7. The PC is not online, so I have to download everything manually. Most of the prerequisites are on the CentOS Everything ISO so I don't have to download a lot. I installed all the documented dependencies and configure complained about python3. So I downloaded and installed python36-libs-3.6.8-1.el7.x86_64.rpm

Attempts to Set Max Password Age in Samba Tool Fails
Hello! I am on Samba 4.10.0, Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS. I recently reset a password and found that my password expiration had somehow gotten set to 400 days. Trying to build Samba from source on RHEL 8
Hi, I'm trying to build Samba from source on a RHEL version 8 server. I installed all the necessary packages and untarred the source for Samba version 4.6.10. In the past I have been able to successfully build and install Samba version 4.13.17 on a RHEL version 7 server with Python2. Here I believe I am using Python3, but I cannot seem to get past the configure command: [root at v2ecsqapp09

Building samba 4.17.4 on CentOS7
Hey Rowland, Thanks for the reply. I was not aware of that page but that's super helpful. Unfortunately it does not fix my problem. I think I'm missing something basic. At this point I'm just trying to rebuild the centos7 srpm. See the attached error message (configure fails). [RFC] Python 2 / Python 3 status, final step(s)
Hi Folks, Now that LLVM 11.0.0 has been released, it's time to prepare for the final step envisionned in the previous RFC named *[RFC] Python 2 / Python 3 status* [0], ie. requiring Python3.6 for LLVM 12.0.0, to be released in 2021. At least Fedora already only ships Python3 and we didn't have much bugs reported wrt. Python compatibility for the LLVM toolchain. Indeed, all Python scripts

Samba4 with python2.7 and python3
Hi all, Arch Linux (a rolling release distro) has updated to python3 a while back. python2 is still installed in parallel, but part of the ramifications of this move is the following:-0 1. /usr/bin/python points to /usr/bin/python3 instead of /usr/bin/python2 2. /usr/bin/python-config points to /usr/bin/python3-config instead of /usr/bin/python2-config I'm having problems with make for
