Can't use DNS Manager in MMC on Samba 4.12.0
I opened bug 14310 (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14310). Are attachments I upload there already restricted or do I have to do that myself? Can't use DNS Manager in MMC on Samba 4.12.0
No worries Andrew. I haven't upgraded all servers yet so it's not urgent! Is there a secure place I can upload my logs for when there's time to take a look? If you can see: Privacy: Make attachment and comment private (visible only to members of the samba-devel group) then tick that, otherwise I'll have to make the bug private first and then lock the attachment and re-publish the bug.. Hi Alex I've had the same DNS manager issue. Compiling samba4 hangs at [1815/3978] Compiling librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c
Hi, I have tried both RC4 and from the repository but I can't seem to get samba4 to compile. I have rebuilt the OS (Centos 6.3) from scratch and I am still having the same issue. I get: WAF_MAKE=1 ./buildtools/bin/waf build Waf: Entering directory `/opt/samba-master/bin' Selected embedded Heimdal build [ 133/3978] Generating VERSION [ 168/3978] Generating smbd/build_options.c [1815/3978]

Hello List, I'm receiving several of these messages in my samba log file. I'm not entirely sure what the errors are referencing either. I'm under the assumption DNS related. ndr_pull_error(11): Pull bytes 1 (../librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c:81) ../librpc/rpc/dcerpc_util.c:264: ERROR: pad length mismatch. pdc emulator dns record missing after transferring role
Rowland, I've encountered an issue with connecting to the samba DC's DNS service from DNS Manager tool (under Windows). It says "Active Directory service is not available". While digging into it, I've found the samba rpc worker throws an error: [pid 18398] geteuid() = 0 [pid 18398] write(3, "[2020/03/18 18:36:21.694834, 2]

Sudden authentication failures, hex dumps in log.samba
In a leap of faith, I decided to relax the iptables rules on our Samba DC (4.0.5) on Wednesday, permitting some of our production clients to actually authenticate against it (in addition to our W2k3R2 DC). After all, there are no replication errors and no errors either in log.samba or Windows event log, so things _should've_ been generally working, and various test clients also have had no

Compile of v4 RC1 fails
Centos 6.3, patched as of yesterday. Beta 8 was compiled and run successfully on the same machine yesterday, and I was able to fully configure and join a domain. With today's RC1 release, I downloaded the source, configure.developer/make, but make failed (really, it just hangs forever) after: [1717/3777] Compiling librpc/ndr/ndr_basic.c If there's other stuff I can provide to help

Errors in parse_share_modes Testing CTDB 2.3 and Samba 4.0.7
I'm working on building a CTDB/Samba cluster on AIX 7.1 with the latest levels to replace an older one running CTDB 1.0.113 and Samba 3.6.1. I have the new servers up and running and they seem to work, but I'm worried about some messages in the logs. I run with log level 1 on the servers so that the connection details are logged. On the old cluster there were only connection/closed
