Since then I?ve been having problems with some accounts connecting, while some connect fine still. I haven?t been able to figure out why. My server is a relatively simple standalone server, using the LDAP password backend. AKA a

How to get time differences in consistent units?
I'm still having trouble getting to grips with time classes. I wish to calculate the difference in days between events. Browse[1]> insp.j$First [1] "2002-02-19 13:00:00 NZDT" Browse[1]> spray.j$Date [1] "2001-11-29 13:00:00 NZDT" Browse[1]> insp.jk - spray.j$Date Time difference of 82 days If I save insp.jk to a vector, I get a nice useful value of 82.

Computer in Samba 4.3.11 domain - logon server unavailable
We've a Samba 4 domain (no AD, just DC) with LDAP backend on Ubuntu 14.04. This server has been migrated from files backend to LDAP by the previous maintainer, I know the version is pretty old but we cannot update at the moment. The domain works fine with some W7 and W10 (updated from 7) computers, but we have purchased a new Lenovo laptop with Win10 which joined the domain seamlessly but

The RPC server is unavailable on Samba 4 clients
Hi, I used to upgrade/migrated samba 3.3.10 to samba 3.4.17 with LDAP backend in place, while upgrading the CentOS from 5.5 to 5.9. In place to retain the trust relationship. The users can able to login without re-authentication from existing machines. Tested 3 XPs, and 3 Win7 but it takes 5-8 mins to login compared to 1 win7 that was re-connected (disconnected from domain, restart, then rejoin

Weird POSIXct behaviour
Friends I have an xts that I wish to access. Browse[2]> DATA.ba[[p]]["2012-03-20 00:59:57","bid"] bid 2012-03-20 00:59:57 1.4993 So far so good. Now putting the index into a variable: Browse[2]> Time [1] "2012-03-20 00:59:57 NZDT" Browse[2]> DATA.ba[[p]][Time, "bid"] bid Where has it gone? Looking closer....

Incorrect DST time changes in DateTimeClasses
Can anyone please shed any light on why R DateTimeClasses give weird times for when daylight saving time information changes, and which aren't consistent with the OS? Example: Expected result: in New Zealand DST stopped (NZDT -> NZST) at 03:00 NZDT on 2010-04-04, as confirmed by the OS time zone info (OS X 10.8.2): zdump -v /etc/localtime /etc/localtime Sat Apr 3 13:59:59 2010 UTC

smbfs timestamp problem
Here's a curly one. I have a share mounted via smbfs on my linux desktop. This share is on a NetApp filer somewhere, but I've also tried this on a an old linux server as well, and I have the same problem. Basically, since day light savings came into effect here (NZDT or +13), any file I create on the share gets a time creation timestamp that is way out (approximately 12 hours and 48

imapc_port not working
Hi Aki , I need to Sieve to match the message headers TO, CC, BCC against a list of email addresses. If it gets a match, I want Sieve to set the x-original-to header to that email address (I think I can do that with Sieve extension). Is this doable? Thanks,David. imapc_port not working
Hi Aki, Thanks. I didn't know that about imapc - but by the way, I finally got it working. The reason why I am inserting Dovecot between my (single) client and our Exchange server (eventually - I am still testing against imap.gmail.com)? is to that I can manipulate the email with Sieve due to limitations of my client (Genesys). Give the above scenario, should I use imapc or proxy ? Thanks for

imap proxy is a "dumb proxy", it will just pass everything to google & back after you've authenticated. imapc allows you to use imap sieve to some extent. I'm not sure what kind of Sieve manipulations you have in mind. Aki > On 27/10/2020 11:42 David Tildesley <davotnz at yahoo.co.nz> wrote: > > > Hi Aki, > > Thanks. I didn't know that about

RequireSecuritySignature=1 and public share with guest not working
Hello I have an samba server with a public share. It was configured with security=share. Now I have to tight security with setting those flags in the windows client: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters] EnablePlainTextPassword=0 EnableSecuritySignature=1 RequireSecuritySignature=1 Since this change the public share is not working anymore. I have solved the port problem by specifying it in the passdb section as userdb_imapc_port=993 But:This is in the error log when I make a connection from the client: Oct 27 08:49:16 imapproxy01 dovecot: auth: Fatal: passdb imap: Cannot verify certificate without ssl_ca_dir or ssl_ca_file settingOct 27 08:49:16 imapproxy01 dovecot: master: Error: service(auth): command startup failed, throttling

Windows 2000 Bug in GMT +/- n Timezones (PR#3644)
Tracking down this bug was joint work with Jermoe Asselin (jerome at hivnet.ubc.ca) and Patrick Connolly (p.connolly at hortresearch.co.nz). We collectively were able to determine that this is a problem in Windows 2000 but not in Linux. Timezones of the form GMT-5, GMT+3, etc. do not work properly in Windows 2000 for nearby dates in daylight savings time although they do work for nearby dates

You know that imapc != imap proxy. imapc is a thin client, which is a "mail storage provider" like maildir. imap proxy is when you proxy the connection somewhere. this is done with proxy_ settings in passdb. You need to specify ssl_client_ca_dir = /etc/ssl/certs to get cert verification working with imapc. it's required. Aki > On 27/10/2020 10:54 David Tildesley <davotnz

FreeRADIUS & SAMBA when Active Directory domain is not a FQDN
OS is Centos 7; FreeRADIUS Version 3.0.13; Samba version 4.9.1; I'm building a FreeRADIUS box for Eduroam authentication for both SP & IDP, and have hit a stumbling block I can?t figure or Google my way out of. The issue is the local AD domain is along the lines of ?example.campus?, but users have a UPN of ?user at example.com? which was added for Skype for Business as prior the UPN

'Jukebox' quality?
In light of the recent study - http://www.airwindows.com/encoders/index.html - posted at slashdot, I've come to realize how little I know about this whole field. So, I'm making an appeal to the audio experts here. I want 'jukebox' quality, meaning ~0 artifacts while maintaining a good compression ratio, but not quite 'archival' (read high bitrate) as I don't mind
