Samba-4.6.0rc4 on FreeBSD
Hi, I just tried Samba-4.6.0rc4 on FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p8 to see if there's still a problem with "net rpc" commands but it crashed already at provision: # samba-tool domain provision --use-rfc2307 --interactive Realm [RW.LAN]: Domain [RW]: erver Role (dc, member, standalone) [dc]: DNS backend (SAMBA_INTERNAL, BIND9_FLATFILE, BIND9_DLZ, NONE) [SAMBA_INTERNAL]: DNS

Hello all, I am looking to setup a Samba AD on my NAS. I am currently using the latest version of NAS4Free which has Samba bundled into it already. However, I am getting a very nasty error when I go in to setup the samba service: Initializing... samba 4.6.0 dc provisioning fails with exception
Hello, I have a problem with samba provisioning as DC. CentOS 7, built from tarball using samba howto. Below is the output. I would have filled bug report, but the "New Account" in bugzilla is not working also :( [root at dc samba-4.6.0]# samba-tool domain provision --use-rfc2307 --realm navidom.office.navi.pl --domain NAVIDOM --server-role dc --adminpass DuDu778$$# --dns-backend

samba 4.6.0 dc provisioning fails with exception
Hello, I found the cause. It was the default kerberos config on CentOS: /etc/krb5.conf Please add to the wiki page: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_Samba_as_an_Active_Directory_Domain_Controller that before provisioning we should remove this file. It wasn't confusing only for me, as the resolution I found was in bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11573

Yes. I imagine that's why Andrew Bartlett commented: "There may be some good news in the future, as I've had one of the developers at iXSystems working with me on a proper fix, specifically for zfs. It might take a little while however." As things stand, I believe that domains provision correctly within the context of FreeNAS itself (i.e. through the webui). Hence, the comment

I'm sorry. I probably should have linked their samba fork: https://github.com/freenas/samba You can look at the commits from around the time period of the bug report. It looks like quite a lot of work in ./python/samba/provision/ On Thu, Jul 6, 2017 at 2:50 AM, Rowland Penny via samba < samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > On Wed, 5 Jul 2017 17:23:28 -0500 > Andrew Walker via samba

samba-4.3.6 and talloc-2.1.6
I build new version of talloc-2.1.6 (build from external tarball) and samba-4.3.6. But if I provision domain by command samba-tool domain provision --realm=test.alt --domain test --adminpass='Pa$$word' --dns-backend=SAMBA_INTERNAL --server-role=dc --use-rfc2307 --use-xattrs=yes I got error: Fixing provision GUIDs ERROR(runtime): uncaught exception - pytalloc_reference_ex() called for

But if Samba AD does not work on the ZFS filesystem, then why bundle it with the NAS4Free OS? What filesystems does the Samba AD support? Ok so how can I setup the SAMBA AD on the ZFS? I ma using this tutorial guide to do what I need it to do. Now, I do have the samba service being installed o a UFS formatted ZFS Volume. I know that without that, it won't work right. On Mon, Jul 3, 2017 at 12:52 PM, Rowland Penny via samba < samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > On Mon, 3 Jul 2017 12:23:24 -0400 > phillip mobley via

I am trying to setup samba as a dc using bind dlz I'm not sure how much I need to setup on bind before I can use it. I did the following check.
