Samba 4.11.6 cannot JOIN - 'Could not find machine account'
A small update...
I was able to remove the "Cannot reach a KDC" errors by disabling Apparmor.
However, the original WERR_DNS_ERROR_RCODE_NAME_ERROR error remains and is
now the first error in the log.

When I run samba-tool like this without specifying the server, it chooses the older backup
server that runs Server 2008 (named PE2600).
Joining to this server results in a different error:

New trick for old dogs
We have been using Samba for many years. The company has just switched from an NT domain to an Active Directory domain. The new server is running Windows Server 2003. We are having trouble configuring our Solaris 8 server so it can join the domain as a server. Just getting Samba to compile and link was interesting enough. This included downloading and compiling a new version of the BerkeleyDB,

Hello,
I?m trying to use winbind to allow my AD users to logon to our linux
computers.
I?m using FC6 and Samba 3.0.23c-2.
I have several problems:
1. When I start linux machine and immediately ofter logging in I try to
check trust secret by running wbinfo -t
I receive this error:
checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed
error code was NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER_NOT_FOUND (0xc0000233)

Error joining Samba 4.7.4 DC to existing Win2008R2 domain
Tried again to join, now with full cleanup of /var/lib/samba/private
folder on new server... same error.
Anyone have an idea of what's going wrong?

Thanks for the time you're dedicating to solving my issue.

I've replaced log sensitive data before posting it (replacing real
domain name with SAMDOM), but replace was case-insensitive so

Error joining Samba 4.7.4 DC to existing Win2008R2 domain
It seems I'm talking to myself... anyway another test here:
Added the existing DC IP config to /etc/hosts and the join now shows a
more explicit LDAP error:

Error joining Samba 4.7.4 DC to existing Win2008R2 domain
Tested again to join, now clearing both Kerberos, Samba config and Samba
private folder.
The new log now has some more details (resolve_lmhosts: Attempting
lmhosts lookup for name SRVAD-OLD.SAMDOM.LOCAL<0x20>), but I'm still not
able to join.
Wonder why is it trying to do an lmhosts lookup, 4.6 is not.

Error joining Samba 4.7.4 DC to existing Win2008R2 domain
Can you specify the full DN of the DNS record in question?
Afterwards, maybe you can also try deleting that DNS record and retry
the join?
Failed to find machine account is almost certainly an unrelated debug
message. I don't think it has any relation to your issue.
Cheers,
Garming

Ah, so the error changed..
?
Can you try
?
samba-tool domain join empresa.com.br DC -k yes -d 3 --server=samba4-dc01.empresa.com.br?
so we try to join through samba4-dc1 and not the windows DC.
?

Unable to join to domain: The username could not be found.
Hi,
This is my first post here, so if I make any mistakes, warnings are
always welcome. I'm working in an organization and we are migrating are
domain controllers from windows to linux. I'm trying to deploy a working
configuration of samba. Using openSuSE 10.0. I was following the Keith
Robertson's how-to from IBM-Developerworks but in the end; the finished
