Newbie question: Spaces in share names
Hello.
I hope you are all well.
A quick question as I am trying to fix some bugs and just wondering
where the fault lies - Does the Samba daemon/client specification
(Windows version or otherwise) support spaces within share names (not at
the start, but after the first alphanumeric character and before the last)?
For example is "My Document Share" a valid share name, which

Naming conventions with samba4 & AD with computer with "_"
Hi,
I'm evaluating to migrate samba 3 domain to samba 4 with AD, but our
environment contains dns names with "_", and in samba wiki appears
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/909264 that you can't use dns names
with "_"
Disallowed charactersDNS host names cannot contain the following characters:
- comma (,)
- tilde (~)
- colon (:)
- exclamation point

I'll reply to the list with a CC for you. Because this involves samba also.
And this might help

Prawn (PDF in Ruby) BoF at RailsConf?
Hey folks,
Unfortunately I''m not at RailsConf but if there are enough people
interested in PDF generation in Ruby / Rails, please consider using
the BoF sessions or some other time to get together and share thoughts
about how PDF generation in Ruby can be better, and then have someone
post notes from your discussions to the Prawn mailing list[0].
There are already a bunch of folks

Dell OpenManage installation on CentOS4
I have a Dell 1950 box on evaluation with 2 SATA drives connected to the
on board Dell PERC 5/i with the disks set up as a mirror
I've installed CentOS4.4 (x86_64) on the system and now I'm trying to
install/configure/use the Dell OpenManage tools that came on a CD with
the system.
I've installed the tools using the provided install script and they
appeared to install OK.

Issue with Keytab memory
Hello,
I am using Samba as file server as member of a windows domain.
Kerberos is configured with kerberos method = secrets and keytab
Currently some (not all) users get issues when connecting to samba shares from windows.
In the corresponding samba logs I found entries:

Enable XAT_OFFLINE extended attribute in Samba
My goal is to use the Offline file attribute of Windows when sharing
with Samba:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.io.fileattributes?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=netframework-4.7.2
It works when I share ZFS filesystem using the native ZFS CIFS sharing,
but it fails when I share the same ZFS with Samba, that is the Offline
files are not showed in Windows Client

How to compute 95%CI for OR from logistic regression?
Hi all:
My data has 3 variables:
age(3levels : <30y=1 30-50y=2, >50y=3)
gender(Male=0, Female=1)
CD4 cell count(raw lab measurement)
y(1:death 0:alive)
I perform logistic regression to find out the factors that influence y.
result<-glm(y ~ factor(age) + factor(gender) + CD4,family = binomial)

RODC in DMZ
Der Rowland,
We share that concerns actually and of course if there is a way to avoid
it, it is always better. Another fellow suggested us an LDAP-Proxy
instead (personally have never setup one). What we actually need in our
case scenario, is only that service and not the rest of bells and
whistles of an RODC.
I just was wondering if someone had experience with what happens if one
does

Bogus rsync "Success" message when out of disk space
Patches welcome, eh, Paul?
Upon further (belated) investigation, there are 2 affected places
in receiver.c with this error message. Both call write_file().
And write_file is called only in those two places. So that is the
appropriate location to patch. Especially since the obvious fix is
to use the rewrite code already there for the sparse file writes.

(fwd) Bug#319169: logcheck: chokes on log files whose names contain spaces
i did some cleanup first, but now i'm choking on a much earlier stage
than i first thought.
-- logcheck

logoutput "$file"
done

that falls apart if you insert in /etc/logcheck/logcheck.logfiles
a line like
/var/log/auth .log
even if you escape it with "", which is a valid
