commiting SAM database
We stopped the migration, because we had to many problems. For your information: The windows-domain was set up in 2002 with windows 2000 and was raised up to windows 2012 over the years. The domain is responsible for the login of all 20.000 students. So over the years they have over 170.000 Objects. For the migration we used the 4.11 sernet-packages. We started with 32GB of RAM and noticed that

Invalid data for index DN=@INDEX:OBJECTCLASS:DNSNODE
We have a Samba primary domain controller "empire", which seems to have DNS update issues. We can seem to query all records on empire just fine, and we can modify IPs for existing records, but it will not delete or add new records. Attempting to delete via the AD tools shows "Local security authority database contains an internal inconsistency". Adding a record on the command

Problem after join samba 4.11 into windows-domain
We joined a samba 4.11 DC (sernet-packages) into a windows domain? with round about 170.000 objects. After "commiting SAM database" has finished after 21 hours we now have a database-file but if we try to list the content with "ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/privat/sam.ldb" we get the following error: ------------------------- ldbsearch --url=/var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb

Hi Heinz, > now the join finished > > but ... i have a high CPU load caused by a samba-process. Samba is consuming 100% of one CPU and the replication fails. you have quite a few objects (>12000) in you main partition. Do you have a large group with all those objects inside? The commit of large group used to result in very very long commit time. There should have been some

Problem joining a samba Dc to a winbdows domain
Hi, I am trying to join a self compiled samba 4.8.2 DC to an existing Windows domain using https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Joining_a_Samba_DC_to_an_Existing_Active_Directory#Joining_the_Active_Directory_as_a_Domain_Controller as instructions. The smb.conf looks like the following: [global] netbios name = PHT-VDC1 realm = EXAMPLE.COM server role = active directory domain

Unable to transfer ForestDns/DomainDNS
lol...sorry! - The windows domain controller does run a DNS server - I joined the samba DC's to the windows DC. I used the normal command, but did get an error about the forest and domain dns. The error is: descriptor_sd_propagation_recursive: DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=fisherthompson,DC=local not found under DC=fisherthompson,DC=local descriptor_sd_propagation_recursive:

Unable to transfer ForestDns/DomainDNS
So I setup a testing environment so I can test/break things. I think my issue is that something is screwed up with the Partitions on the windows 2003 server. The forest and domain partitions look odd, are they? Mine looks kind of like this... http://1ask2.com/Wndows2012/Upgrade/migration09.jpg On Tue, Jun 28, 2016 at 8:21 AM, Jason Waters <jason at geeknocity.com> wrote: > I still

Failed when join to an existing Active Directory Domain
Hi, I've tried to update my samba AD/DC environment. Then, I've removed a existing offline DC with "samba-tool domain demote --remove-other-dead-server=genos". I've re-created "genos" (yes, I try to keep the same name and IP address) and install a 4.10.2 samba version (I know the new version is 4.11.0). When I've tried to join it on my domain, I've received
