Firstly, there is my samba conf below (Add @d_group in "invalid users"): (smb_share.conf) [f1] path = /home/f1 write list = "admin" "@Administrator_Group"

vfs_streams_depot
Hi, I have configured vfs_streams_depot to support some NTFS metadata. The metadata files are being created but permissions are not inherited from their parent objects. Only a user who created the metadata has full access to it. For example, we have one file object "file1" and few users having full access to it. If one user creates metadata information all other users cannot read nor

vfs fruit requires filesystem with extended attributes support?
hello all. I want to use my OpenBSD server for time machine via samba. Reading documentation, I noticed, that vfs module fruit requires streams_xattr for work, and in documentation for streams_xattr i see that the file system of the share must support extended attributes. And OpenBSD FFS does NOT support extended attributes. Does this mean I cannot use frut module too?

with streams_xattr enabled, ads are written correctly but not retrieved
Hello, I'm running Samba 3.6.6-1 on my x64 Arch Linux installation. I recently decided to have my samba share support NTFS's Alternate Data Streams by using streams_xattr or streams_depot. With streams_xattr I discovered that if I copy a file having an ADS from a win7 box, on the linux console, I can see the ADS as an xattr attached to the file. However when I copy the file back to my

streams_xattr & streams_depot
A couple of questions about the above: 1. In their respective man pages, both refer to "NTFS alternate data streams?, however they are not limited to just NTFS ADS are they? Other file systems may also use ADS (such as Mac OS?s various fs) 2. What is the essential differences and similarities between the two? From the man pages it appears that: - xattr has default prefix (which can be

Can't write to a samba share mounted as an AD user
If I’m not confused though, I believe pisymbol CAN get a mount. It’s just that the mount has read-only access despite the file ownership and modes being set to give full read-write? -E > On Aug 2, 2018, at 8:56 AM, Rowland Penny via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > > On Thu, 2 Aug 2018 11:17:47 -0400 > pisymbol <pisymbol at gmail.com <mailto:pisymbol at

Pruning embedded samba 3.6 installation
I'm using the Yocto Project to build an embedded distro, to which I'm adding Samba 3.6 from OpenEmbedded. Doing so increases my root file system from about 63MB to 175MB. I seem to be building a large Samba server with a small ancillary operating system tacked onto it. I listed the files in my file system image, and see that lots of the commands are quite large. I understand that Samba 4
