Odd behavior on group membership
Hi Rowland, thank you for your prompt reply,
I sent you the testparam output hence lots of defaults (i presumed would
be better), here is crude smb.conf:

[global]
netbios name = ARAUCARIA
realm = AD.TLD
server role = active directory domain controller
workgroup = A1
server services = -dns

Hi Rowland,
Those tests were made on DC (araucaria), not a domain member.

Hello,
I have a problem with files locks on share. My server is running
FreeBSD 10.2 (amd64) with ZFS pool (raidz) for windows share and samba

The server has approximately 100 users accounts and computers accounts.

id map range overlap
Hi all,
I'm using Samba (AD) under Debian Buster.
Testparm tells me the idmap of TDB and AD would overlap.
However the configured range don't.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hi,
I?m running a samba 4.0.16 under Debian Squeeze 6.0.9, i?ve noted under standalone role mode file transfer on shares is almost twice as fast compared to AD DC mode for big and small files .Settings for the shares when was testing under standalone mode was exactly the same, any suggestions ?

Users list and the date the password will expire
Quick addendum: I just stumbled upon abandoned accounts receiving
"password expired" notifications forever, even if they get disabled
subsequently (by me). It might be helpful to include this in the script:
uAC_string=$(ldbsearch --url="${LDBDB}" -b "${domainDN}" -s sub
"(&(objectCategory=person)(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=$user))"

I didn't know you were using a DC as a fileserver, this is not
recommended.
If I had know, I would have asked for the output of 'samba-tool
testparm'.
However, I can work with what you have provided.
