NT4-Style Auth & Roaming Profiles Only?
Hi There, Tried a Samba AD. Didn't work out. Please do not suggest. Thanks! Here's what we have: Ubuntu Linux 14.04.4 LTS Samba 4.3.9-Ubuntu Using OpenLDAP for authentication Using nscd to speed things up *Not* running winbind *Not* running Kerberos The problem is the company purchased a product that, *despite* the vendor being told "We don't have

Most Popular Searches
Hi, I have an index where each document contains an untokenized ''url'' field. I would like to query the index for the most popular urls. In SQL I would do this via a Group By clause. Is there anything in Ferret that will do something similar? I found this discussion that proposed a solution involving TermEnums:

can't get one specific group to show up in the output of id on one system but it does show up in another identically configured server in the same cluster
Hi all, I have two rhel 6.3 servers running sernet samba 4.1.4-7 with winbind connecting to AD. They're also running ctdb. For some very strange reason I can't get one specific AD group to show up in the output of "id username" or the gid of that group to show up in "wbinfo -r username" for the user on one of the servers but it shows up fine on the other. The strange

Problems authenticating after upgrade to sernet-samba 4.3.9-24
Hello list, Just did a major Samba/CTDB upgrade and our previously working auth setup is having some issues under the new version. Would appreciate some help troubleshooting. It seems like we are close, since the trust relationship between our Samba servers and the AD service looks OK. But winbind fails like this: ------ [root at mako-nsd4 ~]# wbinfo -n jsmith failed to call wbcLookupName:

ext3 partition still gets mounted as ext2 for me too!
Hi, I am a new ext3 user and I am having problems similar to what many people are facing on this list. I have done everything as the emails suggest. I am using SuSE 7.3 with the the 2.4.10 kernel and ext3 compiled as a module. Because it is 2.4.10 kernel, I created all my journals from a rescue disk and everything seems to be working right for the non-root filesystems. My fstab has all my

randomly sample within clustered data?
Dear useRs, What is an efficient way to randomly sample from clustered data such that I get equal representation from each cluster? For example, let's say I want to randomly sample two cases from each cluster created by the "id" variable in the following data frame: > id<-c(rep("100", 4),rep("101", 3), rep("102", 6), rep("103",

Clustered data with Design package--bootcov() vs. robcov()
Hi, I am trying to figure out exactly what the bootcov() function in the Design package is doing within the context of clustered data. From reading the documentation/source code it appears that using bootcov() with the cluster argument constructs standard errors by resampling whole clusters of observations with replacement rather than resampling individual observations. Is that right, and is

Samba share and groups permissions
Thanks Rowland & Miguel, Sorry, I didn't know setting in share overrides setting in global. So I've in the global section "vfs objects = recycle acl_xattr", but it doesn't work either. getent group <GROUP_NAME> command returns the group name correctly (DOMAIN\group_name:x:10006:). Updating from 4.1 + CTDB to 4.2/CTDB?
Dear list, We are about to upgrade to Samba 4.2.9 from sernet-samba 4.1.6 + CTDB 1.0.114.7 running on top of GPFS. My understanding is that as of 4.2, CTDB is now part of Samba. So does this mean we need to uninstall all of our sernet-samba and ctdb RPMs (we are on CentOS 6), then install the sernet-samba 4.2.9 rpms and reconfigure everything for CTDB? For those who have done this, how

The use of R Commander for beginning students and newbies
Everyone: In the last few months I've noticed an increasing number of questions to this list from students who are new to the use of R and who have limited (in any) local support on R and specifically support for R syntax. My text (http://www.springer.com/statistics/social+sciences+%26+law/book/978-1-4614- 2133-7) from last year was specific to the use of R syntax but given recent

Shell script to list group members
I have several shell scripts to manage user accounts on a server. I've been using a file with the usernames of peoples accounts that any script needs to process. I had a thought that I can and should be setting up groups and adding user accounts to those groups so I don't have to maintain a set of files with the user accounts. So essentially, I am looking for a (simple) shell
