registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its
Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some
appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry
"vulnerabilities"
which are detailed in the attachment.
I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these
issues are
legitimate concerns,

Riello Vision VST 1100 + NetMan 204 network card
I've contacted Riello and they told me that the NetMan 204 is the new
version of the Netman Plus 102 and is indeed compatible with NUT.
I don't know how to update the Hardware compatibility list page, but the
204 should be added to the compatible ones.

Riello Vision VST 1100 + NetMan 204 network card
Hi,
I'm looking for a small 230V Line Interactive Pure Sine Wave UPS with
NUT support via network.
It looks like the VST1100 has a communication slot for an optional
NetMan 204 network card, but I couldn't figure out if that would be
compatible with NUT.
What I need is being able to monitor the UPS in Home Assistant (which
uses NUT AFAIK) plus being able to automatically shut down a

Yes, thank you for the guidance.
Regarding "*You do not put the users password here (if that is what you are
trying to do): --password=PASSWORD1*"
My experience has been this, no matter where I put "--password=" in the
string, after the "user" as the manpage suggests or the end. When I run the
create string I am asked for a "New Password:' and then

Riello UPs implementation for NUT software
Dear Sirs,
I'm Massimo Zampieri responsible for the software and connectivity accessories for Riello UPS.
I would like to list our UPS to NUT.
For this porpoise we will provide to you all the information requested as serial protocols, end even some ups in case.
We have 2 way to communicate with our ups via RS232 and USB (with our driver, but the source code will be provided in case) and via

Changes to Folder Redirection
So, what is the difference between "Using Group Policy Folder
Redirection" and "Using a Group Policy Preference"? Is it an either/or
and _NOT both_ scenario?
Clearly the ". . . Policy Preference" is editing the registry settings
of each workstation with a GPO. Something the " . . . Policy Folder
Redirection" does not do.
Is not "Using a Group

Transfer GPO's between servers on different domains?
As per title, is it possible to export GPO's from one AD DC and import
them into another, one on a different domain? Searching online, all
posts refer to transferring GPO's between servers on the same domain, or
restoring GPO's from backups when rebuilding a server. It is tedious to
configure by hand 30-40 GPO's - it would save a lot of time if there was
a way to just copy

Issues on Samba4 AD DC GPO's with Sites and Winbind
Hello Samba-List,
Recently I ran into a few access rights problems with GPO's.
I have an test environment running with four samba4 AD DC's (sernet
4.1.2/debian wheezy). Used the Script's from the samba wiki for sysvol
replication. The AD Database is comming from an classic upgrade and i
have "idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes" in my smb.conf.
Some groups like for example

windows acl not saving, no error, nothing in log file
I'm running samba 4.1.6 as a PDC on ubuntu 14.04.
I'm following these guides to setup print shares
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_as_a_print_server

When I go to my windows workstation to change the ACL's on the print$ share
I can get into the security tab and I can change the security options

Is a mixed MS/Samba DC environment doable?
Hi
I'd like to learn more on the pros and cons of a mixed domain that consists
of both MS and Samba domain controllers and member servers.
What I have learnt so far is this;
I created a new lab domain with an MS DC 2019. I then added a Samba 4.19-3
file server as a domain member w/o any issues.
The clients are 2 Win 10 VM's for tests of shares, GPO's and related
technologies. Still

This is a situation that is meant to work, but is not actively tested
(all our tests are pure Samba), but seems to work for some folks.
However given the way Windows

Future AD domain currently want FreeRadius Samba or FreeIPA?
My main home server runs Fedora 25. I have experimented in the past with an
Ubuntu samba AD domain controller(in a VM). Which was really cool because I
could join Windows 10 pro machines to it and assign GPO's just like my AD
at work. Currently I'm looking into setting up a FreeRadius server. I want
to eventually be able to have the same authentication across machines and
wifi and the lot.
