SYSLINUX 3.30-pre5 released: graphical menu should now be fully functional
Hi all, I have released SYSLINUX 3.30-pre5. This is the first version in which I think we can consider the graphical menu feature-complete. I would really appreciate any and all feedback on this particular test release. Also, if you find a machine on which the graphical menu *doesn't* work, I would appreciate knowing: 1. does it correctly fall back to the text menu? 2. what is

Looking for a maintainer for the simple menu system
Hello all, I'm thinking that it would be a wonderful thing if someone would be willing to become maintainer of the simple menu system (as well as the advanced menu system, which is currently maintainerless, but I think the simple menu system is more widely used.) I'm currently about halfway done with proper submenu support, but I have come to the conclusion that adding features to

The simple menu system doesn't work with serial console
Hello, I have just get started using pxelinux, and encountered a problem. The document says the simple menu system supports serial console, and it works on syslinux 0.2x, but it doesn't seem to work in 0.3x and 0.4x. I confirmed that this patch fixed the bug. *** com32/lib/sys/xserial_write.c~ 2006-10-30 08:30:35.000000000 +0900 --- com32/lib/sys/xserial_write.c 2006-10-30

Comboot Menu System
On the SysLinux page, there is a screenshot of "COMBOOT Menu System for SYSLINUX developed by Murali Krishnan Ganapathy" (Advanced Menu System). I was wondering where I might be able to download this menu system in full to work with? If you dont want to share, I understand, but I am really intrigued by this and want to learn more, and maybe make my own design if I can figure it out.

Password protection for the simple menu system
Hi all, I'm looking at adding password protection to the simple menu system. I have no plans to add password protection to the built-in CLI, however. My current thinking is the following: - Each entry can have a "menu passwd <blah>" where <blah> is a SHA-1 encrypted & salted password. Just "menu passwd" would password protect the entry using an

Menu system bug - MENU DEFAULT not working
Hello, I'm reporting a bug, see attached syslinux.cfg I'm using submenu entries to emulate checkbox inputs. The idea is simple, there are submenus generated for all possible cases, and each Enter keypress loads appropriate submenu section. The logic of the menu is correct. Just syslinux has some bug. It doesn't set MENU DEFAULT properly for all submenus. If your first Enter keypress

The simple menu system doesn't reset LF/NL
Hello, I found another problem in the simple menu system with serial console. The menu system doesn't reset LF/NL which was set in console_ansi_row(), because it never calls the destructor, console_clenup(), and so the LF/NL remains until you run "reset" command in sh on Linux. -- HIRANO Takahito hiranotaka%zng.info

I think this is a bug of syslinux. I tried it on 3 different PC/Servers always the same effect.
