Hello
What I'm trying to get at is this -- I'd like to analyze and
understand what softwares that was used to build a library of
softwares that made it as UBCD 4.x. This way, I would be able to use
UBCD as a model to build customized ITS apps to be used for campus
tech work.
Is there some kind of step-by-step or user guide that explains how to
build everything from scratch and what softwares

compact flash, fat, reduced knoppix and syslinux
Hi.
I've recently picked up a 256MB compact flash card and
CF->IDE adapter.
I'm wanting to put a smaller version of knoppix on
here. I came across miniknoppix here:
http://www.inittab.org and decided to have a play

So far I have opened up the ISO image and copied all
the files out. I have put a boot sector onto the CF
by putting the CF into the IDER adpater then

USB key: CBIOS line printed, nothing else
Here's an interesting problem, and the first partial failure I've seen
when booting USB keys.
I've installed a bootable Knoppix "CD" image to my USB key, and posted a
writeup of my installation method here:
http://knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25402
Up until now, I've always had one of:
100% success (it fully boots)
100% failure (BIOS fails to recognize the USB

I WAS experiencing a problem while attempting to boot Knoppix V5.0.1 off a

This is link has been the base for my work so far:

Another batch of helpins needed.
Hello, you guys have helped me before. I am setting up a multiboot system on
my usb stick. At one point, with syslinux, i had the two of the three
systems working. However in a sucessful attempt to get the third working, i
used that os'es instructions for usb installition, which included syslinux.
After which, that system worked, with its syslinux.cfg being located in a
non-root folder

Booting to USB Pen Drive
I am trying to use Syslinux as my boot loader for a stripped down
version of Knoppix (DSL) on a USB Pen Drive. I followed the instructions
verbatim on
http://rz-obrian.rz.uni-karlsruhe.de/knoppix-usb/knoppix-usb.html, but
no luck. The system will start to boot to the USB, but gives a Kernel
Panic. I will give all information that shows on the screen.
After I select Boot from USB (which on my

like SYSLINUX or ISOLINUX to do it for me, but there is some magic
in the process (the sequence of booting) that eludes me.
