Can't write to a samba share mounted as an AD user
If I’m not confused though, I believe pisymbol CAN get a mount.
It’s just that the mount has read-only access despite the file ownership and modes being set to give full read-write?

Subject=Re: Mac Clients Disconnect with: source3/smbd/service.c:1050(close_cnum) closed connection to service data
Louis -
have you run testparm -s on your server?
You don?t show it in your smb.conf, but I assume you have vfs objects = catia fruit streams_xattr there as well as in your [data] share. If you don?t, you should since you have various fruit: parameters in the [global].
The SMB conversation in your Wireshark pcap would be easier to read if you filter on ?smb2? :-)

OS X client symlinks
When you say “real symlinks on OSX” do you mean an “alias” that Finder would create? Or a Unix-type symlink using the “ ln -s file link” command in Terminal? A Finder alias is not the same as a Unix-type symlink.
My NAS runs Debian Linux with version 4.3.11 of smbd; my clients are all OSX Mojave.
If I create an alias using Finder on the NAS, it behaves like a normal alias in OSX UNLESS I move

Can't write to a samba share mounted as an AD user
Are the default ACLs set on the share in question? 'getfacl .’ In the root of the share.
Sounds like files are being created by a user with the proper permissions but then are being assigned permissions as part of the creation process that denies write access.
Also, I don’t know what qnap_macea does exactly… the ‘ea’ strikes me as obviously handling extended attributes. I’m used to stacking

loss of group permissions on created Directories when using vfs objects = catia fruit streams_xattr
Hi All,
I'm hoping you can help, I've recently built a Samba server on Ubuntu 16.04lts and bound it to our AD for security. This server was created to support a small number of Mac users who also authenticate via AD but still allow general Windows client access as well.
The problem I have is the video editing software they require makes use of the 'vfs objects = catia fruit

It seems to have bug for @group to set in valid or invalid conf
Hi all,
I am using samba 4.10.7 and it seems to have bug for using @group in valid
or invalid conf (?). And i can't find fixed patch in later release. I
describe this issue detail below:
1. Firstly, there is my samba conf below (Add @d_group in "invalid users"):
(smb_share.conf)
[f1]
path = /home/f1
write list = "admin" "@Administrator_Group"

Recycle Repository Issue
I have done some searching on the Internet, but not been able to find a solution to my problem. I hope you can help me with this.
I have a server at home that runs on FreeBSD 10.3. The file system is ZFS. I have two ZFS pools: tank and fun. I share my ZFS file systems using Samba v4.6.2.
When I add recycle bin functionality for a share like below, it work like a charm:

Extended attributes not working on mac
I worked with Netatalk for years and want to switch to Samba now. Currently i use Ubuntu 20.04. and Debian 9 before, i had no issues with netatalk at all.
As soon as i try to add a color tag (e.g. yellow) with Mac OS 10.15.5, the tag appears shortly but hides one second later. The file system is ZFS with no special options configured.
I tried the Ubuntu package but also the builds from source

sambaUserWorkstations (with LDAP) not working with Groups of Computers ?
Hi,
I'm trying to use the sambaUserWorkstations option to allow users to log
on certain computers only. This option looks great... In fact it looks
now a lot better than the 'ldap filter' one than was deprecated with
samba 3.0.20...
The fact is, if the sambaUserWorkstations option works well with machine
names, it doesn't seem to work when specifying groups of machines.

with streams_xattr enabled, ads are written correctly but not retrieved
Hello,
I'm running Samba 3.6.6-1 on my x64 Arch Linux installation. I recently
decided to have my samba share support NTFS's Alternate Data Streams by
using streams_xattr or streams_depot. With streams_xattr I discovered that
if I copy a file having an ADS from a win7 box, on the linux console, I can
see the ADS as an xattr attached to the file. However when I copy the file
back to my

Samba 4.2 - OS X 10.11 - permissions are being ignored
Hi,
when saving a file to this share the permissions (0777) are being
ignored under OS X 10.11.5. All files will get these permissions: 0755.
I don't know why?
