guest access
Hello List
I install a samba 4.6.5 server for active directory authentication and
shares.
I have a number of Samba shares, some of which I would like to allow guest
access to Windows machines. If a windows machine tries to access a "guest"
share, it requests a username and password.
please help me to connect to share without username and password.
thanks
Here is my smb.conf:

Users list and the date the password will expire
Hi list,
long time no see! :)
I was looking for an email reminder script for users whose password will
expire. Some of our users are on long travels and will never see the
Domain's default notification. I haven't found any complete (and simple)
solution online. So I wrote one. In case it helps anyone, you find it below.
You should only have to fill in the blanks for the the

Gaiseric, thanks for your response. the `testparm -v` gave me:
private dir = /var/lib/samba/private
So, I guess that means the sam.ldb in that directory is the one being used, not the one in
/etc/samba/private. That helps.

Slow Samba AD DC performance compared to Microsoft AD DC
Lookup in the Windows setup where indexing is applied.
And, upgrade you os +samba (as Rowland also said).
Indexing on ad-object greatly improved in later samba versions.
ldbsearch -H "$(samba -b|grep PRIVATE_DIR |awk '{ print $NF }')/sam.ldb" -s base -b @INDEXLIST
Will show you the index one's in samba.

join a NAS or workstation to the domain I get NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID.
Researching these symptoms turns up a thread about a corrupt idmap.ldb
where a group SID and user SID may be the same or
