Samba 4.10.6 for rhel7/centos7 rpms
Hi everyone, I've posted some updated source and binary rpms following the release of updates by the samba project. Updated rpms include samba-4.10.6 and ldb-1.5.5. Here are the links: - http://nova.polymtl.ca/~coyote/dist/samba/samba-4.10.6/RHEL7 As usual, these work fine for me (4.10.6) but YMMV. Please do report issues if you find some. Regards, Vincent

Build error while compiling 4.9.8 when using gcc 4.8.5
Thanks for that suggestion, however that piece is a 'work in progress', but not the actual problem I am facing right now. FYI - domain controller piece works flawlessly on the 4.4.180 kernel build based around CentOS6 including many integration tests to Windows DC / replication and the like that I have configured. -----Original Message----- From: Nico Kadel-Garcia [mailto:nkadel at

RPM building tools for Samba 4.0.3 on RHEL 6 published bye me on Github
I've been spending some time backporting Samba 4.0.3 from Fedora 19 to RHEL 6, partly as proof of concept, partly to make it available to others. I've published my work at: https://github.com/nkadel/samba4repo/ The key RPM building tools are at: https://github.com/nkadel/samba-4.0.3-srpm/ And there are dependencies listed for libtalloc, libtevent,

CentOS 6 VM image for paravirtualizaton on CentOS Xen server
I'm looking at a CentOS 5 Xen server that I'd really like to put some more recent VM's. There are reasons not to touch it at the moment, so I can't upgrade it in place today. Has anyone successfully installed a CentOS 6 VM, paravirtualized, on a CentOS 5 Xen server , without significant Xen upgrades? If so, can I get a copy from a reputable source, or one that I can review before

I concur with Nico ? logging plaintext passwords is an extremely bad idea. Upgrading Xen 3 on SL 5 server with CentOS 5 and SL 5
I'm dealing with an old Xen 3 server, and badly need to update it and all the vm's on it to more contemporary operating systems. So far, so good! Can the Xen server on CentOS 5 para-virtualized CentOS 6? And if not, I'm having real trouble getting a live cd or installation media to boot in full virtualization to do the update of the guests. I'd normally start by updating the Xen
