Copying (Samba -> WinXP SP2) MATLAB generated .jpg files very slow.
Greetings, This is a interesting problem. One of our researchers uses MATLAB to generate jpg files as part of his vision research. When he copies these files from the file server, it is very slow. I tried 3.0.28a and I see the same problem as we have with 3.0.28. Here are some interesting stats. 1) MATLAB generated files: command: robocopy Y:\23_1 C:\23_1 /e dirs: 2 files: 262 bytes:

It like we may have a bug in tar that ships with Centos. It looks like -o is mapped to --same-owner. XP irratic delay in opening files....
Hi all I am fairly new to samba and XP. I have a client who we set up a samba server for, they are complaining about documents taking about 30 secs -2-3mins to open but only sometimes (it can be very frequent). I have seen this and captured a piece of the log file I wonder if any one can make any sense of it... I have been looking on the net and trying various things all day but to no avail...

There is one win2K machine, which is a domain member. Subdirectories on PROJECTS have g+s set, so only users, who are members of specific Linux groups, have access to

Re: URGENT!!!!! Problem: outlook.pst with samba 3.0.21c!!!!!!!!
You should give us a look at your smb.conf. AFAIK from my very own experience: 3.0.21c somehow behaves different from 3.0.20 with the same smb.conf. Maybe you have to set some values which did not have to be set before.
