I forgot, post also:   cat /etc/idmapd.conf ( im adding it in the debug-collector atm )   There might be a mis in detecting the Domain or Local-Realm. I suggest, add this :    Domain = jeoffice.jacklin.co.za Local-Realm = JEOFFICE.JACKLIN.CO.ZA   see if that helps.   Greetz,   Louis Van: Ian Coetzee [mailto:samba at iancoetzee.za.net] Verzonden: woensdag 10 april 2019 10:17 Aan: L.P.H. van

DNS question
Dear list, we use debian stretch with Louis's 4.10.5 packages and bind9_dlz backend. There are two AD DCs with redundant ISC DHCP servers on them. The DHCP servers are updating the DNS along the lines of https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9 but with nsupdate commands replaced by suitable calls to "samba-tool" (I had problems getting the

I've summerized a bit.. And i saw Rowland also answered already. Below is anonimized, but it shows, 2 completely different server setups. I really suggest you setup your AD-DC's the same. To summ up. DC1 Samba is running as an AD DC but 'winbindd' is NOT running. You running SSSD on the AD-DC, which is not supported. Your using a really out-dated OS.. The hosts is not

Hi Louis, Thank you for the thread. Reading through it now. I also, this morning, realised that I forgot to include a very critical piece of information. I initially installed samba 4.5 from the debian repos, then got hit by this issue. I then purged samba and winbind, and did a apt autoremove --purge. Loaded your repo and reinstalled the needed packages. Don't know if this complicated

RSAT Print Management won't show shared printers under the "Printers" section
Hai Tomas, And Marc thank for having a look also. @ Tomas, now i think you setup is ok, but review it based on my setup below. Now, i am using samba 4.6.8 here, but this is working as of 4.2.x. There where a few small problems, i just cant recall exact what these where. If you want to stay in the 4.5 line, then its an option to try my 4.5.14 package if needed. I did some testing also, my
