One more upgrade question
Hi, I have a running samba 4.7.6+dfsg~ubuntu-0ubuntu2.15 on a ubuntu 18.04 server and would like to upgrade to van Belle latest repo. My plan is plain simple: 1. Deploy a new ubuntu 18.04 server 2. Add van Belle repo 3. Install and *then* join the domain as a DC 4. Demote and remove the old one Is this OK? Thanks, best regards. -- *Marcio Merlone*

Azure AD Connect
We joined one MS Windows 2012 R2 server to our Samba DC fleet and pointed the Azure AD sync tool to that new Windows AD server and Azure password sync is working well now. I don?t have any experience with distribution groups. Van Belle Samba Repo
Hi Louis, Is your repo currently having issues, or did I manage to somehow get blocked by your firewall? I could access it 30 minutes ago, now it’s no longer working. # cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/samba.list deb http://apt.van-belle.nl/debian bionic-samba49 main contrib non-free # apt update W: Failed to fetch http://apt.van-belle.nl/debian/dists/bionic-samba49/InRelease Cannot initiate the

Shared printing between Linux (client) and Windows (server): NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Thank you for answer. Logged in as Guest, then went to Security tab. I see `Everyone', it is given all permissions. Then I went to `Current permissions' tab (I have localized OS at the moment, so probably it is not correct name) and typed in `Everyone' and `Guest' as well: all five permission types are checked. $ smbclient -L 192.168.0.100 -m SMB2     Sharename

Azure AD Connect
G'Day Marcio and gabben, Douglas (CC'ed) is going to try and look into why this doesn't 'just work' with Samba. No promises, but at least a trained eye will look over the process. If you could help him get set up and understand what works and doesn't that will leave him more time for actual debugging. The Azure AD sync feature is a big of an oddity in Samba, because it

ow ow .. slapping myself.. I forgot my note about the VERSION file.. That you see this : Version 4.10.2-Ubuntu is because i use a Ubuntu as base for the 4.10 builds. I'll correct that, but there is no difference in the packages once this is corrected back to Version 4.10.2-Debian. It just a "version-name" Greetz, Louis ________________________________ Van: Martin

Ubuntu Bionic samba 4.9.11 and 4.10.6 are now available. (amd64/i386)
Hi Louis, Thanks a lot for providing that service. I do have unattended-upgrades active, but it didn?t pull your new version. I guess it is because your repository is not listed as a repo to be considered for automated upgrades, but I am struggling with what exactly into the list Unattended-Upgrade::Allowed-Origins. I tried "deb:bionic-samba410"; but that didn?t do the trick... Thanks,

Ubuntu Bionic Samba 4.9.13 and 4.10.8 packages online now (amd64/i386)
Hai, Well, not exactly, if you coming from source builds. In that case is suggest. Pick a repo line matching your self compiled samba. If thats a 4.9, choose the 4.9 repo line to add to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/van-belle.list file. Stop the self compiled samba version. Disable starting the selfcompiled samba. Reboot you server to make sure nothing has openfiles, or check this manualy.
