samba-tool crashes if include = /patch/to/%U.conf in smb.conf
Hi, Samba4 (4.1.9) on Ubuntu 12.04 here (seen same behavior on 4.1.6 on Ubuntu 14.04). I've encountered an annoying bug with samba-tool, some exceptions aren't caught causing the tool to crash if it finds something it doesn't like in the smb.conf. I have a specific line in my conf : "include = /etc/samba/%U.smb.conf ", it's useful for applying specific samba

NT_STATUS_ADDRESS_NOT_ASSOCIATED error msg on DC boot
Hi, after rebooting the AD DC i regularly get NT_STATUS_ADDRESS_NOT_ASSOCIATED and - as a consequence - task_server_terminate: [XXXd failed to setup interfaces] error messages in log.samba (I removed a couple of "samba: setproctitle not initialized, please either call setproctitle_init() or link against libbsd-ctor." lines for better readability): [2019/06/11 09:23:47.400171, 0]

no DNS functionality on second subnet
Hi, we have successfully installed our samba4 AD domain with AD DC, smb file server and Windows/Linux clients in the same subnet. Now we try to add a couple of Windows PCs to the domain that are located in a different subnet. As soon as the AD DC is added as the DNS server on the Windows clients it is no longer possible to resolve ip addresses. In other words, for those PCs DNS is not working.

samba-tool provision error
Hi, It looks like samba is having trouble reading the smb.conf file, so I'd suggest double-checking that. From memory, I think you can get this exception if the smb.conf file exists, but cannot be parsed correctly. I think the default location of the smb.conf can vary depending on distro/compilation/etc. On ubuntu the default location is /usr/local/samba/etc/smb.conf. You could try using

Hi, we are currently in the process of testing a Samba AD setup and have identified some "challenges" regarding user accounts in /etc/passwd and in AD. Let me explain today's situation. Today we use a Linux file server that serves for both Linux and Windows clients and that acts as a NT4 PDC. The client computers are dual boot Linux/Win 7. Under Linux, /etc/passwd, /etc/group and

samba dc dns issue
You might have a "chicken and the egg" issue with DNS. The prospective (soon-to-be-joined) DC has itself listed in resolv.conf -- so it looks there but can't find an entry for an existing DC to join? Remove the self-referential entry and try again. Add it back after the join.

Drawing ticks in the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice
Dear all, I want to draw ticks on the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice. How do I do this ? In my search of the help, I discovered a parameter alternating, which kind of says where the ticks will be but does not suffice for me. I am running this command : - barchart(X03/1000~time|Company, data=df1[which(df1$time!=1),], horiz=F,
