We only have one Unix domain member aside from the DCs and that is the
samba file server.

Hey guys, sorry for the (no subject) message. I copy/pasted from a
previous email and missed the subject.
I really appreciate the quick feedback! I'm hoping to produce a series
of blog posts that are guaranteed to work (on Debian 9 at least) and
produce the ultimate Samba-powered Active Directory environment.

How to learn abut what is in the samba ldap directory
I once upon a time worked with DAP and watched LDAP being created as
something that actually could work...
Showing my age here.
What little I have done with LDAP has been very clearly delineated so
that I knew what was being done. Here, with Samba, and I guess
actually, it is AD, I have not found that. Yet. But there are always
tools.
So I am looking at: phpLDAPadmin
I know these

A few questions and propostions on the samba architecture
That explains why there is so little information on ldb and sqlite.
From my pov sqlite just seemed interesting, as it has a well known
syntax and the ability to embedd a transparent logic layer. As there is
no effort to use sqlite (or sql) in the future , I just burried that path.
As for compability I would strongly suggest to stay where Microsoft left
off, before killing the "UNIX

Hierarchical multi-level model with lmer: why are the highest-level random adjustments 0?
Hi all
I have a hopefully not too stupid question about multi-level /
mixed-effects modeling. I was trying to test a strategy from Crawley's
2013 R Book on a data set with the following structure:
- dependent variable: CONSTRUCTION (a factor with 2 levels)
- independent fixed effect: LENGTH (an integer in the interval [1, 61])
- random effects with the following hierarchical structure: MODE

Hello,
I'm running a Samba DC on Debian 9 (version 4.5.12-Debian) in a lab
environment, set up like this:
https://jonathonreinhart.com/posts/blog/2019/02/11/setting-up-a-samba-4-domain-controller-on-debian-9/
I would now like to configure this server to enable login via domain
credentials. I'm aware that the Samba wiki recommends the following:

I'm looking for a way to solve the problem between my Samba 4.4.4 DC and my
samba 4.3 File Server.
The users and groups ids are not the same in both servers and i can't find
the solution for this.
Can anyone help me?
This is the environment:
DC: Samba 4.4.4

What does "NT_STATUS_PIPE_BROKEN" in log files mean ?
Hi All,
One day we upgraded client pc's OS from Windows7 to Windows10,
Windows10 clients could not access a samba server.
When we re-enabled the SMBv1 protocol on Windows10, Windows10 clients
still could not access a samba server.
After adding the following [global] settings, Windows10 clients could access
a samba server at last.

Cannot save domain
I have a domain running a Windows 10 system on an Ubuntu 16.10 host
system. The domain has 4096MiB of memory. When I try to save the
domain, or managedsave the domain, I get an error when it's about 96%
complete. The terminal session looks like this:
virsh # save Windows10 windows10-20170402.save --bypass-cache --verbose
Save: [ 95 %]error: Failed to save domain Windows10 to windows10-

domain member idmap wbinfo WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Hi,
I've done a classic upgrade to from samba 3.6.23 to samba 4.6.5 bringing across all the user
accounts. The samba 3.6.23 we set up with smbldap as an NT Domain with OpenLDAP. After a lot of
effort the classic upgrade worked well but now I'm a bit stuck with idmapping.
The new AD DC is running 4.6.5 on CentOS7 and I can connect using ADUC. I set up a separate AD DM on
a another CentOS7

I think you mean RSAT.
What do you mean with "Win 10, no RSAT"? RSAT is available for Win10:

Wiki content announcement
Hello
my latest content updates:
* https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_Samba_as_an_AD_Domain_Member
New page. It replaces the old "Member Server" page, which shows now
just a notice

Everything to know is described on the new "Domain Member" page.
